Biography[]
Killer Moth idolized thePenguin, and was inspired by him to become a super villain. He arrived atTeam Penguin's headquarters, and given membership solely as the team's coffee boy. While the other members grew tired of Penguin ordering them around, Moth was happy to serve. They managed to steal a vat of chemicals that they wanted to use the melt the solid steel safes of Robert Howard. Moth was placed in charge of guarding the chemicals, which nobody else would due to the risk of their safety, but his driving caused some of the chemicals to fall on the moths who touched him, mutating him.
When the other minions found Killer Moth, he was transformed into large a mutant Moth but still retained his humanity. Initially, he was unaware of his new state after his teammates were flabbergasted until he saw his reflection and found himself capable of flying and spitting acid. Killer Moth was pleased by this development, as his new powers garnered fear and respect from his teammates. Though now the most powerful member of the team, he remained fiercely loyal to Penguin, who in turn made him his lieutenant/enforcer and was now able to properly lead the team. He and Penguin alone break into Wayne Manor without the rest of the team. They were defeated byBatman and his two young allies, Robin and Batgirl.
Killer Moth was one ofRumors' many captives, being captured alongsideRagdoll and Firefly. For some reason, he does not appear fighting Batman and Robin when the villains are free.
Powers and Abilities[]
Before his transformation, Killer Moth wielded a cocoon gun which trapped his victims of some sticky substance, though all the times he used it, it backfires, making the goo go all over him. When he becomes a "Killer Moth", he gains the ability to spit acid, fly, and have enhanced strength and speed.
