Hyperion is a supporting antagonist in the2010 Marvel Animated Universe. He is a major antagonist inAvengers Assemble.
He is a major antagonist in the first season and one of the secondary antagonists (alongsideZarda,Speed Demon &Doctor Spectrum) of theSquadron Supreme arc in the second season.
He first appears where he helps the Avengers into stopping some meteorites that used to be from a doomed planet with one of them being classified by J.A.R.V.I.S. as an "Earth-Killer."

Hyperion extremely arrogant and has a lack of self-awareness regarding his actions. He genuinely believes his methods are justified, even when they cross moral boundaries. This arrogance leads him to see himself as a savior or superior being, often dismissing the perspectives or objections of others, including the Avengers.
Hyperion’s sense of justice is authoritarian and uncompromising. He is willing to use fear and extreme force to achieve what he views as peace or order, as demonstrated by his willingness to destroy entire worlds or cities if they oppose him. He does not see himself as evil, but his actions are often villainous, and he is blind to the harm he causes.
He lacks empathy for those who disagree with him and shows little remorse for collateral damage. Hyperion’s conviction in his own righteousness allows him to justify destructive actions, even going so far as to destroy his own planet for its opposition.
His arrogance and overconfidence frequently become his downfall. Hyperion underestimates his opponents and fails to recognize his own flaws, which leads to his eventual defeat by the Avengers.
Biography[]
Hyperion crashes the Avengers' battle with Wrecker and defeats him. The Avengers encounter Hyperion in his citadel above the city where the Avengers claim that he is endangered series. Hyperion orders his computer Quagmire his history where he tried to stop the full corruption of his planet and failed.
Hyperion then hears of trouble on the bridge and heads there. The Avengers follow Hyperion where they find him trying to eliminate Wrecker (who Hyperion suspected of leaving town). The Avengers stop him from taking out Captain Marvel as he claims that the Avengers are like the problem on his planet.
He took out Hulk and Thor and damaged Falcon's flight pack until only Captain America, Hawkeye, and Black Widow are left. Hyperion states that the humans are flaw until he discovers that the Avengers provided a diversion so that Iron Man can get into Captain Marvel's citadel. Hyperion confronts Iron Man and prepares to engage him.
When Iron Man asked why he chose Earth, Hyperion stated that he chose Earth so that he can offer them peace and order. With help from J.A.R.V.I.S., Iron Man showed him what happened to this planet and that Hyperion destroyed the planet when they wouldn't listen to him.
Iron Man states to Hyperion that Humans aren't perfect. Hawkeye fires a distraction arrow so that Thor and Hulk can take down Hyperion. Hyperion is then shown in a special cell stating that the Earth will soon need him again.
In the episode "Bring on the Bad Guys," the final scene showed thatRed Skull and hisCabal have obtained the cell holding Hyperion as Red Skull frees him. As Hyperion wants vengeance on the Avengers, Red Skull invites Hyperion into the Cabal in exchange that Hyperion can trust him. In the episode "The Ambassador," Hyperion joins the Cabal into attackingDoctor Doom at the United Nations. The speaker in Doctor Doom's armor does perform a sound attack that gives Hyperion temporary hearing problems as he is attacked by the Avengers. After Doctor Doom was taken into Avengers Tower by Captain America, Hyperion and the rest of the Cabal retreats.

Argoan Physiology: Being a native of the planet Argo, Hyperion's physiology grants him unique physical powers on the planet Earth. These powers are due to the radiation of Earth's yellow sun and the weaker gravity of the planet he now lives upon.
Solar Energy Absorption: Hyperion's natural biology enables him to soak up ultraviolet radiation and store it in his body. This makes him similar to that of a solar battery.
Invulnerability: Hyperion's dense molecular structure makes him virtually impervious. This means he cannot feel pain and his body is unharmed by virtually anything. This also makes him immune to all known human ailments as well as toxins and poisons. This also gives him the ability to move about in space without even having to breathe.
Superhuman Healing: Though virtually indestructible, whenever Hyperion sustains injury, his healing factor makes him able to regenerate within mere moments.
Longevity: Hyperion's healing factor halts his aging, at his prime.
Self-Sustenance: Hyperion does not need air, water, food, or sleep to survive.
Superhuman Strength: Hyperion has the ability to lift an incalculable amount of weight over his head with ease. This is due to the fact that his body is denser than an average human, making him able to lift several tons without breaking a sweat. Is strong enough to fight Thor and the Hulk and harm them with only his punches.
Superhuman Speed: Hyperion can move at super and possibly hyper-sonic speeds. This power also enables him to have reflexes too fast for a human eye to comprehend.
Superhuman Hearing: Hyperion's hearing is so great, he can hear anything and everything from distances he's not even presently located. He is able to pick up even the slightest vibrations through physical contact, enabling him to perceive his surroundings as precisely as normal sight.
Superhuman Vision: Hyperion's eyes give him a variety of optical-based powers. This ability gives him the power to see in the electromagnetic spectrum, see things from a great distance, see things at the microscopic level, and his most famous, X-ray vision.
Super Breath: Hyperion's respiratory system gives him the ability to intake more air than a human, then expel it with the power of a hurricane. He can also use this same power to freeze objects as well.
Heat Vision: One of Hyperion's most powerful abilities is the ability to generate and emit powerful beams of energy from his eyes.
Flight: A power that has made Hyperion famous is his ability to defy the laws of gravity. This is of course thanks to his dense molecular structure as well as the gravitational pull of the Earth which is weak by his standards.
Weaknesses[]
Blue Sun Radiation: Despite being under a yellow sun for most of his life, the natural sun of the Argoan people was in fact a blue sun. If Hyperion is exposed to radiation from a blue sun, he has no powers at all so long he is exposed. Upon exposure to a yellow sun, his powers will return.

The original Hyperion is an obvious imitation (as well as homage) of DC's Superman, only darker.
This version of Hyperion was based of his Earth-616 counterpart from the Squadron Sinister.
When Hyperion asked Quagmire to pull up file e-712 this was a reference to the original Squadron Supreme members' home universe in which they are good.
