Fungi is a minor villain in the Disney animated TV seriesThe Legend of Tarzan.

It was unknown how he came across Tublat, but after Tublat came across Gobu's tribe and killed their leader, Fungi served as Tublat's right hand man since. Tublat wanted Tarzan dead and Fungi followed his plans. They sent Gobu to find Tarzan and bring him to their territory to kill him.
The Enemy Within[]
After Gobu was sent to find Tarzan and befriends him, Fungi appears as a messenger to Gobu and informs him that the 'Boss' is getting impatient. But Gobu ensures he will. Later on, after saving Tantor from a quicksand, Gobu was welcomed to join Tarzan's family, and Gobu was honored. When Fungi returned, Gobu said he is not coming back and is joining Tarzan's tribe. But Fungi blackmails him that it will cost him the lives of members of his old family, forcing him to obey and bring Tarzan along tonight.
When Tarzan helps escort Gobu home, he runs into Tublat's trap and the rogue gorilla approaches with Fungi sitting on his shoulder. After being chased by Gobu's tribe, Tarzan was forced to return because Tublat is holding Terk (who followed them to impress Gobu with her new lady personality) hostage. But after Tarzan informs Gobu that he and his family do not have to take order from Tublat and that he and his family are stronger than Tublat in numbers, Gobu stands up to Tublat. Fungi climbs a higher branch, to get a good few of potential brutality. Gobu informs his family that he really needed them to help fight and kill Tarzan and informed before he came, they stood as a family and can do it again for they are stronger than the brute is. Realizing this, the whole troup turned on Tublat, attacking him. Tublat tries to fight back, he was overwhelmed by their numbers and strength. Tublat struggles out of the crowd and runs away from Gobu's home, never to return. The gorillas glare at Fungi, not wanting him around either. Getting the message, Fungi cowardly runs away too, banished from Gobu's tribe. The gorillas cheered happily that they are free from Tublat and Fungi forever, and Gobu became the new leader for his family.
