TheDormant Sentimonster, later known asFeast while Akumatized, is one of the overarching antagonists (alongsideThe Kingdom) of theMiraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir franchise.
It is a Frog-likeSentimonster created byMaster Wang Fu using thePeacock Miraculous that became obsessed with devouring all the Miraculouses in existence. Because of this, it would destroy the Order of the Guardians and devour the Miraculouses in their protection, resulting in Fu becoming the last Guardian, and the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculouses being lost and coming intoHawk Moth andMayura's possession. Decades later, it was awaken by the two villains in order to defeatLadybug andCat Noir.
Biography[]
Past[]
According to Master Fu, while he was training to be a Guardian of the Miraculous, one of the many trials he had to endure was watching a Miracle Box for twenty-four hours without food and water. Becoming hungry, Fu took the Peacock Miraculous and used it's power to place an Amok into his staff and thus create a Sentimonster with the intention of being a companion. Fu instructed it to grab him some rice balls in the kitchen, unaware that the Sentimonster was imbued with both his hunger and resentment towards the Miraculous. Because of this, it gained a ravenous appetite for the Miraculouses, and began to devour the different Miracle Boxes and everything/everyone else in its path. In the chaos following, Fu lost his staff, and thus his ability to control the Sentimonster.
One of his teachers then gave Fu the Miraculous spellbook and the last Miracle Box to escape with, allowing him to flee before the rest of the Guardians were devoured and their temple destroyed. Having devoured the other Miraculous, the Sentimonster began to chase after Fu to eat him and his Miracle Box. Instead, Fu evaded the Sentimonster, which fell into a chasm of lava, becoming imprisoned in the cooled magma; during the chase, Fu also lost the spellbook, and the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculouses along with it. Now the last Guardian, Fu would defend the Miracle Box alone for over a century, while being constantly haunted by his mistake, and hesitating to distribute the Miraculoses to avoid repeating it. Some time later, Gabriel Agreste discovered the lost Miraculouses and spellbook and used them to become the villain Hawk Moth, forcing Fu to distribute the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses to Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste to fight him.
Awaking and Defeat[]
Decades later, the Sentimonster is recovered and taken to the Louvre museum in Paris, believed to be a statue made from cooled magma. An unveiling ceremony takes place, drawing the attention of all of Paris. Once the statue is revealed, Nathalie Sancoeur falls ill upon seeing it, whileAlya Césaire deems it more evidence towards her theory about the existence of the Order of Guardians because of the symbol it bears. After the unveiling, Marinette Dupain-Cheng heads to Fu's massage shop to talk about Alya's investigation; although Fu doesn't mind, he becomes terrified upon seeing the statue in her video. Fu tells Marinette that the statue is actually a Sentimonster and explains it's origins. He declares that, since Hawk Moth will know about the Sentimonster and use it against them, he must take back her and Cat Noir's Miraculouses and leave Paris before they get hurt. Marinette seemingly dissuades Fu, promising to help him defeat the Sentimonster.
Meanwhile, Nathalie reveals the truth about the statue to Gabriel, having sensed it's Amok before, and he notes that she could either destroy it, or bring it back to life. Nathalie replies that she will be unable to control the Sentimonster if she revives it, although Gabriel promises to help her do so, believing that the Sentimonster could help him acquire Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculouses. That night, Nathalie, as Mayura, breaks into the Louvre, and revives the Sentimonster, sensing its hunger for the Miraculous. Immediately, the Sentimonster attacks Mayura and tries to eat the Peacock Miraculous, only for her to stop it by using her powers to take hold of it's Amok, threatening to remove it and destroy the Sentimonster should it not obey her.
The Sentimonster complies, thus allowing Hawk Moth to send an Akuma out to it, which it eats. Referring to the Sentimonster as "Feast", Hawk Moth offers to grant it even more power in exchange for the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses, although it refuses until Hawk Moth promises to give the Miraculouses back once he's done, including theButterfly and Peacock Miraculouses, ensuring that it has consumed all the Miraculouses on Earth. The Sentimonster happily agrees, and is Akumatized into Feast. Feast rampages out of the Louvre, seeking out the Miraculouses. Feast immediately begins pursuing Fu andWayzz after they have stolen back the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses from Marinette and Adrien. Upon seeing that Feast is chasing somebody, Hawk Moth determines said person is the Guardian of the Miraculouses, with Mayura remarking that soon he won't have anything left to guard.
As Feast continues to chase after Fu, a disguised Marinette and Adrien enlist the help of a bus driver, Roger Raincomprix and André Glacier in order to slow it down, although they are unable to stop it; at the same time, Wayzz tries to convince Fu that he needs to stay and help fight the monster. Feast prepares to devour Marinette and Adrien, only for Fu, having had a change of heart, to arrive and distract it while handing the latter their Miraculouses back, revealing his identity to Hawk Moth in the process. Upon transforming, Ladybug and Cat Noir save Fu from being eaten and confront Feast themselves, with Hawk Moth confident that they don't stand a chance against it. Unable to fight Feast directly, Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm, receiving a metal detector, and learns that Fu's staff was made of metal.
Ladybug forms a plan of finding Fu's staff at two places: where the temple or inside Feast and deliberately allows Feast to devour her and Cat Noir. Hawk Moth is ecstatic at Feast's success, telling it to keep the Miraculouses warm for him and also allowing it to go after Fu. Ladybug and Cat Noir find themselves in a pocket dimension where everything Feast has eaten is trapped inside bubbles, and begin to use Ladybug's metal detector. Feast approaches Fu and prepares to devour him and the remaining Miraculouses; however, before it can do so, Ladybug finds Fu's staff indicating that the staff had to be intact otherwise the Sentimonster would have disappeared and Cat Noir destroys it with his Cataclysm, thus releasing the Amok and Akuma. Feast is then destroyed, and Ladybug returns everything to normal using her Miraculous Ladybug.
Legacy[]
As a result of Ladybug restoring things, everything that Feast had previously eaten returns to where it belongs. This ends up restoring the Order of the Guardians and their temple to Tibet, finally absolving Fu of his greatest mistake. As Hawk Moth now knows his identity, Fu is forced to go into hiding, and declares Marinette to be his eventual successor; this later results in Hawk Moth finally tracking Fu down and capturing him, and him relinquishing his title to Ladybug to keep Hawk Moth from discovering his secrets, losing his memory in the process. Other Guardians later appear after having been restored, including Fu's teacher Su-Han and the unnamed Monk—although the latter seems to be unaware that Fu was the one responsible for creating the Sentimonster and accidentally destroying the Guardians in the first place.

Trivia[]
- Similar to theButterfly Sentimonster, the Dormant Sentimonster has no official given name, as Fu either didn't give it one or didn't tell Marinette what it was.
- The Dormant Sentimonster is the first Sentimonster to have ever been Akumatized by Hawk Moth; and by extension, it is also the first Sentimonster ever known to be Akumatized in the series, followed by theSentimonster Gabriel Agreste.
- Feast is the only Akumatized villain to seemingly gain no additional abilities while transformed, only becoming a bigger and more powerful version of the Dormant Sentimonster.
- It is also the first Sentimonster in the series to have complete control of itself, with the second being theSentimonster Ladybug.
- The Dormant Sentimonster is the first Sentimonster seen in the series that wasn't created by Mayura.
- Prior to it's first introduction, the Dormant Sentimonster was alluded to in "Ladybug & Cat Noir (Origins - Part 1)" and "The Collector", where Fu claimed that he made a mistake that destroyed the Order of the Guardians, and later again in "Sandboy", where theGhosts of the Order of the Guardians taunt Fu for his mistake.
- The Dormant Sentimonster is the second villain in the series to have killed another character while not Akumatized, with the first one being Mayura. Unlike the Dormant Sentimonster, Mayura only killed the Ladybug Sentimonster's by taking its Amok, whereas the Dormant Sentimonster killed most of the Guardians, as well as the other inhabitants of the temple, with the exception of Fu, during the process of destroying the Guardian's Temple, although they were later revived.
- Despite only appearing in one episode, the Dormant Sentimonster is possibly the most influential villain in the series, as its actions caused not only Fu to become the last remaining Guardian, but also made him lose the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculouses, as well as the Miraculous spellbook, resulting in them coming into Gabriel Agreste's possession.
