| “ | I used to go by "Julian", but it's been ages since then, hasn't it? I go by "Robotnik" now, and sometimes... "Eggman"... of myEggman Empire... | „ |

| “ | It's been a delightful battle, Sonic. But nowI win.I take over the world. And youdie! | „ |

| “ | ... And so you see, in the end, it all works out pretty well... forme. The Dark Egg Legion is even more under my thumb than before. G.U.N.'s suffered heavy losses. The U.F. is shaken, and now that I know that little turn-coatHope is with them, I can direct the legion to single her out. I'm sure that makes you happy. I've freshened up the Grandmaster roster, terrorized some mobians, and broken heroic morale across the board!Best of all--you brought your A-game andI stillwon! Thanks to those infiltrator copies you made of yourself, Regina thinks you're at her side. She'll be quite content with an ever-obedient "you", so I doubt she'll figure it out, not immediately, anyway. As for you-you, well...Nobody knows you're here except for me. And it's going to stay that way for the rest of your life. Game over, Snively. Thanks for playing. | „ |

Julian Kintobor of the House of Ivo, renamed as simplyDr. Ivo Robotnik, better known asDr. Eggman, is the main antagonist ofArchie Comics'Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series.
Initially known asRobo-Robotnik, he is an alternate universe version ofDr. Ivo Robotnik who was successful in conquering his version of Mobius, and arrived on Mobius Prime following the former's demise. Seeking to conquer Mobius Prime as well, he resumed his counterpart's role and usurped his empire, eventually downloading himself into a new body, after which he took the new alias of Dr. Eggman. Following the Super Genesis Wave, Eggman's early history would be completely rewritten, making him much more similar to hisvideo game counterpart. He is the second archenemy ofthe Freedom Fighters and Sonic the Hedgehog as a whole.
Biography[]

The two Robotniks meet after Dr. Eggman temporarily resurects Robotnik Prime.
Pre-Super Genesis Wave continuity[]
Dr. Eggman was originally known as Dr. Ivo Robotnik (or Julian Kintobor) from an alternate universe, who managed to defeat his universe's Freedom Fighters and reign supreme as Robo-Robotnik. After he became Robo-Robotnik through roboticization, he was a man no more, but rather an artificial intelligence that inhabits a robotic body. He finds the way to the Mobius Prime reality and starts a new conquest under the disguise of deceased Ivo Robotnik ("Robotnik Prime"). Later leaving the disguise and choosing a new body. Though Dr. Eggman used his robotic abilities for some time, he was later de-roboticized into flesh and blood by an alien race called Bem.
In addition to this, Dr. Eggman is perhaps one of the most intelligent and criminally insane of all the Robotnik alter-egos. He roboticised an entire city of humans as a show of power and has done much evil to the Mobian population. Although not conquering as much territory as his predecessor, he never gives up. Unlike Robotnik Prime, he was able to survive all encounters with Sonic; and even after temporarily going insane and getting overthrown by theIron Dominion, Eggman managed to rise again and rebuild his worldwide empire from the scratch.
However, Dr. Eggman somewhat admires Sonic as an adversary, yet also despises him for the very same reason. It is not unknown for the two to form alliances, but Robotnik's mass-murdering tendencies keep them from lasting long from a unknown destiny.
Post-Super Genesis Wave continuity[]
Dr. Ivo Robotnik was a scientist employed by Guardian Units of the Nation, but secretly had plans for world domination. His coworkerJulian Snively would uncover those, but Robotnik convinced him to keep this a secret from the higher-ups and made Snively his right-hand man. At some point, the two left GUN and thoughNaugus' aid became influential figues in the Kingdom of Acorn, convincing King Acorn that the United Federation was planning to attack. Using this excuse to gain access to the kingdom's resources, Eggman and Snively created an army of Badniks and took over the kingdom, banishing both the king and Naugus to the Special Zone. Eggman's rule over Mobotropolis, however, would be ended by Sonic the Hedgehog, who became his archenemy from that moment on.
Personality[]
Pre-Super Genesis Wave[]
A classic sociopathic narcissist, Eggman retains his inflated ego, insanity, and lust for power, which he has in the video games, as well as his staggering I.Q, inventiveness, and the fact he employsBadniks. However, in the comics, his status as evil is much more apparent. Unlike the lovable but villainous Eggman of Sega lore, who had some honor and morality, this Eggman was perfectly fine with committing mass murder and torturing his opponents and giving prolonging suffering to them, without feeling a pang of remorse.
While he could be somewhat childish at times, and had a very well-developed funny bone, his wisecracking attitude and whimsy only made him more dangerous, since it gave the false sense that he wasn't so suspicious. Many of his schemes and actions rivaled or exceeded those of the version of Dr. Robotnik from the 1993 cartoon, especially his desire to totally industrialize the world and roboticize every living thing. Additionally, while he detests Mobians, the animal-like beings, he is somewhat more tolerant and accepting of Overlanders, the species he belongs to, making him racist.
Despite all this, Eggman is in the presence of small non-evil qualities Robotnik Prime did not have when his new personality started to overwhelm his old life after the Super Genesis Wave. Despite this, Eggman was willing to go to even further lengths to get back at his arch-nemesis, such as (during one of his more mentally-imbalanced moments) being willing to destroy half of the EggDome and all within to destroy the Freedom Fighters, and in the crowning moment of his insanity, being willing to disrupt the Super Genesis Wave to get back at Sonic (not caring that this could have possibly destroyed reality itself; and indeed, even afterwards this had severe permanent after-effects).
Even this action, however, Eggman regarded as "too crazy" for himself. However, he still enjoys terrorizing people and would even kill them if need be.
Post-Super Genesis Wave[]
After the Genesis Wave event, his personality somewhat mellowed out, though he remained mostly ruthless and cruel to his enemies and underlings. For example, instead of blowing up his Egg Army soldiers for disloyalty, he instead paralyzes their bodies and then stores them away for indefinite periods of time.
He saved the life of Egg BossClove's sister, Cassia, by cyberizing her, but lied that the process cured her of her debilitating disease, and would only continue to treat her condition if both sisters remained loyal to theEggman Empire.
According toBreezie, Eggman is also affectionate to his robots, and hates to see them destroyed, especially by each other. He even went as far as to personally infiltrate a highly dangerous dimension just to rescueMetal Sonic.

Trivia[]
- While the Zone Cops (an inter-dimensional policing organization in theArchie Sonic multiverse) usually arrest those who commit villainy within alternate worlds, Dr. Eggman's crimes are deliberately overlooked by them as his presence in the Mobius Prime universe gives it stability after the unnatural demise of Robotnik Prime.
- Likethe original Robotnik based off hisSatAM counterpart and notably his Robo-Robotnik form, which has the same appearence as the latter (save for the color), his modern appearence in the comics still depicts him with black eyes with red irises on the few occasions when they are seen.
- In the Post-Super Genesis Wave issues, however, his eyes have white sclerae and black irises instead.
- Although the Archie Comics version of Eggman, due to his past as Robo-Robotnik v2.0, is technically a Ken Penders creation, he remained in the comics even after all his other characters were removed over legal issues, albeit with the "Robo-Robotnik" backstory being retconned and replaced with one similar to his main series counterpart's.
