Doctor Otto Gunther Octavius, better known asDoctor Octopus, is a major antagonist in the 2007 video gameSpider-Man: Friend or Foe.

He is a scientist with robotic tentacles and one of Spider-Man's enemies.

He was voiced by the lateJoe Alaskey.

Biography[]

Spider-Man was seen fighting theGreen Goblin, Doctor Octopus,Sandman, andVenom at the same time. They are initially winning the fight until New Goblin comes to Spider-Man's aid; Spider-Man puts pumpkin bombs inside Sandman, causing the villains to blow up and get knocked out; later, Symbiotes appear, then Doctor Octopus, New Goblin, and the other villains disappear. Doctor Octopus is captured by themastermind and then gets brainwashed by him by putting a mind control amulet on him. Doctor Octopus is in Tokyo, Japan, and he decides to make a Fusion Reactor.

Spider-Man confronts Doctor Octopus in his lab, and they then fight. Spider-Man defeats Doctor Octopus and then destroys the amulet; Doctor Octopus tells Spider-Man that he doesn't want to fight. Spider-Man tells him that he was wreaking havoc until he broke the amulet controlling his mind. Ock finds it unacceptable that someone took control of his mind. Spider-Man asks Doctor Octopus if he wants to help him find out who did it; Doctor Octopus agrees, Doctor Octopus then tells Spider-Man that he swears he has been punched; Spider-Man acts surprised, saying that is weird; Doctor Octopus helps Spider-Man throughout his journey. Helping him free the other villains from the mind control and bring other allies on the way, they eventually discover the mastermind to be Mysterio, they then defeat him, it is unknown what happened to Doctor Octopus after Mysterio's defeat.

Trivia[]

This Doctor Octopus is based off theRaimiverse version, portrayed byAlfred Molina.
His creation of the Fusion Reactor is an obvious reference to Spider-Man 2, but it's unknown if this version of Doctor Octopus created the Fusion Reactor in the past like his Raimiverse counterpart.
He wears goggles instead of sunglasses, unlike his Raimiverse counterpart.
