CANoe can be used both as a diagnostic tester and for simulation of ECU diagnostics, ODX/PDX, MDX or CANdelaStudio description files are used for parameter assignment. A completeOBD-II Tester is also already integrated in CANoe. | |

Products for Network Simulation Use Cases

For realtime critical applications, Vector offers various solutions based on CANoe with the aim of achieving deterministic time behavior. The timing behavior in CANoe is influenced by differentCANoe operating modes.
In the standard use case, the interface mode, CANoe is executed completely on the user's computer - standard network interfaces are used. This may not be sufficient for increased realtime requirements.
To improve the realtime capability, we recommend switching to PC-based network interfaces, the VTP Devices. With these, further CANoe operating modes are available that enable improved realtime behavior:
- Improved realtime behavior:Distributed Mode andStandalone Mode.
- Hard realtime behavior:Extended Real Time (ERT)
Switching the operating mode from the standard use case to improved realtime behavior requires the right hardware and only a few configuration steps. No change in the Simulation Setup is required.
If hard realtime behavior is required, this must be taken into account in the design of the Simulation Setup in addition to the right hardware.
