“I was very impressed by the number of global applicants and the quality of their work,” said Tim Gray, executive vice president of Golden Globes, in a statement. “The membership committee had a tough time narrowing down the field, but we’re all pleased with the results.”

In 2021, the HFPA came under fire after it was revealed to not have any Black members among its then-87 members going back two decades.

Last week, the Golden Globesexpelled three members for conduct violations, and 15 more voters left the organization.

The 81st Golden Globes will take place Jan. 7, 2024. Nominations will be announced Dec. 11, 2023. Two new categories have been added for the upcoming show: the Golden Globe for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television.

Producing duo Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner will serve as executive producing showrunners for the Golden Globes, with Weiss also set to direct.
