Spike TV is investing inAdam Carolla, as the cabler orders Carolla’s unscripted project “Catch a Contractor” to series.

Produced byEyeworks USA, program follows Carolla, along with contractor Skip Bedell and his wife Allison Bedell, as they serve as watchdogs to homeowners who have been cheated by a contractor and left with an unfinished disaster.

Spike ordered 10 halfhour episodes of “Contractor,” and will begin to roll them out next spring.

Word of theseries pickup follows news that Carolla’s crowdfunding effort for feature film comedy “Road Hard” surpassed the million dollar mark after about a month on Fund Anything.

It has been some time since Adam Carolla has spearheaded a television show. The radio and TV personality of “The Man Show” fame has toyed with a pilot at the Peacock, held a stint on “Celebrity Apprentice” and “Dancing with the Stars,” and hosted a now-defunct car show on Speed TV.

While the comedian’spodcast “The Adam Carolla Show” continues to thrive through ear buds and computer speakers worldwide, Carolla has not abandoned his passion for carpentry, a line of work the talkshow host pursued before his time on “Love Line” and “Man Show.”

Spike’s “Catch a Contractor” will not be Carolla’s first time in the domestic reality space, as TLC landed “The Adam Carolla Project” in 2005, a celebreality-esque show that centered on Carolla renovating his father’s home.

“Catch a Contractor” is exec produced byJD Roth, Todd A. Nelson, DJ Nurre and Brant Pinvidic.
