The FX cabler has picked up the off-network rights to the Chris Carter drama “Millennium,” which was recently canceled after three seasons on Fox.
The dark drama about a former FBI agent with psychic visions will bow in July on the cabler as a Monday-Friday latenight strip.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, but sources pegged the per-episode pricetag for “Millennium” in the low six-figure range, or about $20 million-$25 million over the five-year license term. That’s on the low end of what cablers are paying for off-net dramas these days.
FX’s pickup of the Fox-produced “Millennium” is another exercise in synergy for the Fox-owned cabler, coming on the heels of its acquisition this week of the rerun rights to two other 20th Century Fox TV skeins, “Ally McBeal” and “The Practice.”
