Free viewquality issues... LL53 6EH
Ever since the switch over when there is high pressure (good weather) we lose a number of our free viewchannels, others become stuttery etc.

in poor weather its fine

According todigital UK we should have no problems.

roof mountedaerial ..

I know others in the Nefyn andMorfa Nefyn area with the same issues

We are having issues with some stations - ITV but not BBC. Do you know why this should be?

Andrew Kevin Height:

There could be a multitude of reasons. It's possible you could receive signals from one of 4 transmitters, one of which has PlannedEngineering. We need a full postcode to look at predictedreception in your locale.
Which way is youraerial pointing and are the rods vertical or horizontal? Does the aerial look intact and is it pointing the way you thought it should be - compare to close neighbours.
Check your connections, coax plugs, flyleads etc for corrosion or intermittent/broken connections.

HF:

There is currently some moderate temperature inversion/tropospheric ducting conditions affecting large parts of the UK and these weather conditions can disruptreception for brief or longer periods. The conditions are predicted to last for a few days.
This is what appears to have affected your reception -
BBC report -Morfa Nefyn -Freeview: Weather conditions may be affecting your reception from 17 Dec 18:50 until 17 Dec 19:09. .
Conditions can change by the second, minute, hour and not all multiplexes may be affected or not even at the same time if more than one. You may have lost your signal and it may have returned several times.

Ihope you didn't retune whilst you hadno signal as this will likely have just cleared your correct tuning and you could even get tuned to weak interfering signals which eventually disappear.

High pressure impacting TV and Radioservices across parts of the UK

Some viewers across parts of the UK might experience short-terminterference to BBC television and radio service. This is being caused by a zone of high pressure, which causes problems to the links between transmitters and it also increases interfering signals in specific areas, which results in poor reception.

The conditions can move and change which makes it difficult to know where it will hit next. You can check if the problem is impacting your localtransmitter using the transmitter checker tool. If there are no faults displayed it is possible the problem is impacting your radio or television system directly.

The majority of the BBC's transmissions are not affected by this period of interference, as the BBC's networks are engineered to be generally very robust. Television viewers may experience slight occasional pixelation or break-up or loss of service. Radio listeners may experience break-up of their services.Cable andsatellite services are not affected.

At these times, there is nothing you can do but wait until the weather changes. You should not re-tune your television or radio when this happens.

If you have retuned your TV and continue to have problems with missingchannels, or reception problems, as a result of the high pressure, you'll have to retune again once the weather has cleared.

More information explaining why these weather conditions cause problems can be found here -
