This morning I lostsignal fromChannels 21, 24 & 27 on my DVD recorder. I manually tune to avoidWales with their different programming wrt BBC. Is this a permanent loss? Automatic tuning has now given me Welsh channels only.

Mary Martin: Presumably it was a temporary problem, and you should be able to manually retune and get them back? At least you have the option of a Welshtransmitter if there's any problems.

On the 10th of April retune event atWinter Hill, the BBCchannels will be lost until late afternoon, but should come back on their own.

Many thanks for trying to help. It wasn't temporary. I tried on several days. Welshchannels are fine except for BBC 1 & 2 where the programmes are often different from ourGranada TV Times. Rugby, Welsh festivals etc are not to our taste. We live near Helsby Hill & Granadareception is restricted to thistransmitter. I'll try again tomorrow to see if we can get Granada back. Again many thanks for your comments. Much appreciated.

Mary Martin: If you unplug youraerial once thescan has got to 30% you will avoid it getting a chance to pick up the Welshchannels. All ofElton's channels are below the first 30%. This will give you the Public Service (PSB) channels which, as you know, are all Elton carries.

You may be able to receive the other channels (Commercial/COM ones) from the Welshtransmitter Moel-y-Parc. Only try to do this once you have run the scan through once with the aerial unplugged after 30%.

If yourreceiver has manual tuning then go to it and tune in UHF channels 51, 52 and 48.

If your receiver doesn't have manual tuning, but there is a function to add newservices (or something similar) then run it with thehope that it will do another scan without wiping what's already been stored. That is, hopefully it will add the COM channels from Moel-y-Parc.
