Tropes:
- 24-Hour Party People:Living props who appear in party/dance scenes.
- Awkward First Sleepover: A character is nervous because it's their first slumber party.
- Ballroom Blitz: Protagonist or bad guys interrupt the party.
- Binge Montage: A montage that shows characters getting drunk during a long night of partying.
- Birthday Party Goes Wrong: A birthday party is going horribly, so the birthday person ends up unhappy or disillusioned.
- Birthday Suit Surprise Party: Someone stumbles upon a surprise party while naked.
- Black-Tie Infiltration:The Infiltration takes place at a formal social event.
- Celebration Miscalculation: Someone celebrates a special occasion... on the wrong day.
- Charity Ball: A dance done to raise money for charity.
- Chekhov's Party: If a party happens or is mentioned, pay close attention. Something important happened there.
- Coolest Club Ever: A club that's so cool, people are always partying at it.
- Crying at Your Birthday Party: Someone marks their party by crying at it.
- Dance Party Ending: The episode ends with everyone dancing.

- Invited as a Joke: A character is invited to a party because the inviter wants to humiliate them.
- It's a Costume Party, I Swear!: A character is tricked into showing up in costume at what they are led to believe is a costume party.
- Life of the Party: A character that parties harder and wilder than anyone else.
- Masquerade Ball: A dance where a person can wearGorgeous Period Dress and a mask to hide their identity.
- Missing Your Own Party: A party is being thrown for a character who is running late to the party.
- Mistaken for Special Guest: Someone's expecting a guest who's special in some way (an inspector, a celebrity, etc), and mistakes a random person for the special guest.
- Nasty Party: A person or group of people are invited to a party. However, it's just an excuse to get them all together and kill them.
- Never Had a Birthday Party: A character has never celebrated their birthday, and their friends try to fix this by throwing them a party.
- Night Parade of One Hundred Demons: A festival of Japanese demons and spirits.
- Non-Voyage Party: A party for a character is mistaken for a party celebrating their departure.
- Not a Party Person: A character is attending a party they'd rather not be at.
- One-Person Birthday Party: A friendless person celebrates their birthday alone.
- Opening Credits Cast Party: The opening credits to a show feature the cast partying in some staged manner.
- Parade Peril: A parade (usually part of a holiday) is the setting for horror and/or threat.
- Parlor Games: Old school games that people play at parties.
- A Party, Also Known as an Orgy: All wild parties that are not meant to be orgies lead to sex.
- Party Game: A Minigame Game in which two to four players compete against each other in a board game-like environment.
- Party Scheduling Gambit: A character schedules a party to conflict with another party.
- Persona Non Grata: A specific location has forbidden you from ever entering or returning there.
- Princess for a Day: When a woman dresses up as an upper-class person to go to a royal ball.
- Prom Baby: A pregnant teenage girl goes into labor while at the prom.
- The Prom Plot: High school juniors/seniors attend their prom or an adult is a chaperone/someone's date at a prom.
- Prom Wrecker: A character tries to ruin the school dance.
- Race to Clean Up: If a party is held at a house the host doesn't own, the host may try to clean it up before the homeowner's come back.
- Scary Surprise Party: Something nasty happens to a character (kidnapped, in danger) but it turns out to be a surprise party.
- Screw the War, We're Partying: People throw parties and goof off for fun despite the fact that a war is raging all around them.
- She Cleans Up Nicely: An unattractive character who dresses up for a party looks beautiful.
- Shock Party: A surprise partyGone Horribly Wrong.
- Shoddy Shindig: A party that is boring and underwhelming.
- Slumber Party: A party where the people invited sleep the night (usually women or girls).
- Slumber Party Ploy: A group of kids go on a wacky adventure by lying to their parents that they're sleeping at each other's houses.
- Spin the Bottle: A party game where a group of people take turns spinning a bottle and have to make out with whoever the bottle ends up pointing at.
- Stag Party: A wild party held for the groom before his wedding day.
- Surprise Party: Characters throw a surprise party for someone to celebrate an occasion.
- Themed Party: A party centered around a theme with matching décor, music and dress code.
- Tickertape Parade: Flashy Parade with lots of confetti and music.
- Underdressed for the Occasion: Somebody is embarrassed because they aren't wearing formal enough clothes.
- Uninvited to the Party: The one character whodoesn't get to go.
- Wacky Fratboy Hijinx: College fratboys often throw wild parties.
- What Did I Do Last Night?: Someone recovers from a night of heavy drinking and worries about what they may have done while inebriated. May be the aftermath of a — wait for it! —
