  1. Hi David, I’m just reading the newsletter and you mention the SuperBowl on ESPN. So 7 don’t have exclusivity?

    1. Seven has FTA. But ESPN hasalways had Super Bowl.

      1. I forgot to mention I don’t like the colour. Plus the arms on this one would make it almost impossible to lie down on without heaps of cushions.

  3. Saw ’10+’ last night and saw Amelia hosting solo for the first time, Denham hosted solo two Sundays ago. They had Hugh who normally co-hosts Fridays with Ursula fill in for Denham last week. I suppose since it is half an hour, they could switch to a solo host format if they’re looking at another revamp, they could alternate between Amelia and Denham. For example, Amelia could host Sunday – Tuesday nights and Denham could host Wednesday – Fridays. I suppose though one reason the network decided for them to co-host together from the start was so they could differentiate themselves a little from ‘A Current Affair’.

  4. I just noticed ABC TV have started re-runs of Kath & Kim on Saturdays at 6pm. Checked iView and all episodes + all compilation episodes + the movie + the 20th anniversary specials are there! Nice. Different. Unusual.

    1. I’m wondering what the deal is with the rights seeing as it’s still on Netflix too.

  5. Hey David, did I miss a post on the current season of 911 on ch7 being re-named 911-Athena. This whole season is all about her, and not much else unfortunately…

  6. This is an old prevalent issue. The audio between advertising and programming. There’s a tactic where advertisement audio is compressed to sound louder or make a bigger impact. Yes, it’s a bit sneaky. I think there needs to be audio normalisation. Viewers shouldn’t have to monitor shows if it impedes on duties. It takes energy to reach for the remote.

    1. Oh shades of TCN9 1970 and the QC room next to the transmitter, designed to try to control such issues. TEN10 MCR (Co-Ordinator) tasked to manually pull the audio down a bit during commercials. Currently seems no such manual controls. Just let it rip. The CBS Labs Audimax and Volumax did help but nothing can replace the human hearing. But, is anyone anywhere actually monitoring what’s going to air these days? Doubt it.

  7. Why the slow delay in further seasons of the conners on 7+ ? Still only got S1,2 and 3 up and no sign of the other 4 seasons. Any idea if 7 are planning on showing the episodes( S4 onwards) which include the ones which have never been shown locally due to channel 10’s refusal to show the conners after some contreversy?

    1. Not optimistic about this one. There were also questions when 10 seemed to stop new seasons, so it sounds like a distributor matter.

      1. All 7 seasons are available via the lionsgate+ add on in prime video.

        Only noticed it myself by accident but now I can finally finish the show! Think it’s only been there a few weeks.

        Sure i gotta pay for it but I’ve been waiting to watch this show for years so I’m going to do it.

          many thanks about letting us know about the 7 seasons on lionsgate+ of the conners, managed to nab a 7 day free trial, have seen up to S3, so I should be able to get through the last 4 within the week,hopefully.

  8. David do you know why the NBC today show is not on 7 as of a few weeks ago? From my Google search the show is still running but Savannah is taking a break from it. Also wondering about CBS mornings on 10, will it ever return?

    1. It’s bound to be NBC having Olympic rights and Seven in Australia not, will endeavour to ask.

      1. Ok thanks, I never thought of that. So sick of the IOC & their copyright hogs. It’s not as if people are going to see snippets of the games then not watch the main broadcasts. People who are sports fans anyway which I’m not much of.

        1. It’s going back a while now, but I’m pretty sure NBC Today was taken off Seven for the Olympics even back when both broadcasters had the rights!

          One also wonders how SBS are currently coping, having to edit/remove Olympic stories from various overseas broadcasters. I’d assume the “three minutes per day, three times a day, at least three hours apart” (or something among those lines IIRC) still applies to all non-host broadcasters in this country.

  9. Man, what is this Olympics coverage on 9 right now – 2 slalom races, which are about 1 minute long each, then it goes to a 5-minute ad break… then 2 more minutes of races, then 5 more minutes of ads again!
