TCG has released the TPM 2.0 Library specification that provides updates to the previous published TPM main specifications.

Other TCG specifications detail how the TPM can be implemented in various platforms through TCG platform specific specifications. These specifications include the TPM Software Stack specification (TSS) and separate specifications for PCs, mobile, embedded and virtualized platforms.

JTC 1, a joint committee of the International Organization for Standardization, or ISO, and IEC, the International Electrotechnical Commission, has approved the final ballot for publication of the Trusted Computing Group Trusted Platform Module Library Specification 2.0 as the International StandardISO/IEC 11889:2015, Parts 1-4,in 2015.

Q. What will this specification be used for?
The TPM 2.0 specification is a “library specification”, which means that it supports a wide variety of functions, algorithms and capabilities upon which future platform-specific specifications will be based. Basically, it is the core capabilities and commands of the TPM. The TPM 2.0 specification will be used as the basis for creation of TPM specifications for different platforms.
