The Deputy Chief of General
Staff, Major-General Lawrence
O'Donnell, is to become the
General Officer Commanding
Field Force Command, based
in Sydney, the Department of
Defence has announced. He re
places Major-General J. D. Kel
ly, who retired late last year.
Major-General Peter Day,
General Officer Commanding
Logistic Command, in Mel
bourne, will become the new
Deputy Chief of General Staff.
He will be replaced by Major-
General Derek Deighton, the
present Chief of Logistics.
The new Chief of Logistics
will be Brigadier John Stein,
who will be promoted to major-
general. His present position as
Deputy Chief of Logistics will
be filled by Colonel David
Ferguson, who is to be pro
moted to brigadier.
