A seaside destination with world-class attractions and exciting entertainment

History meets high-octane fun in Atlantic City, New Jersey, an East Coast escape that has attracted visitors for more than 100 years. From the iconic boardwalk set along sandy beaches to delicious dining, lively entertainment options and gaming at nine casino resorts that operate continuously, there’s no shortage of things to see and do in Atlantic City. Late spring to early fall is an ideal time for a trip to enjoy the surf, sand, sun and more.

      Bustling Boardwalk and Beaches

Stroll the famed wooden promenade of the Atlantic City Boardwalk and you’ll encounter kilometers of shops, souvenir stalls, restaurants, casinos, hotels and, of course, ocean views. The first of its kind in the USA, the boardwalk is the centerpiece of the city and offers many fun and recreation. Head to Steel Pier, an over-the-ocean amusement park with arcade and carnival games, classic boardwalk fare like funnel cake and over 20 thrilling rides. Soar above the shore on The Wheel, get your adrenaline pumping on the Freedom Flyer or relax on the carousel. Just steps away, Atlantic City Beach is one of the only free beaches on theNew Jersey shore. Breathe in the salty sea air and take a dip in the water, surf, fish or even parasail.

      Sip and Dine

When you’ve worked up an appetite, indulge in Atlantic City’s culinary and beverage scene. At Little Water Distillery, take a tour and taste the award-winning spirits created by the only craft distillery in Atlantic City, including whiskey, rum, vodka and gin. Next door, The Seed: A Living Beer Project incorporates local ingredients into its innovative brews, which you can try in the taproom. A few steps off the boardwalk, the Orange Loop is a vibrant district with eclectic restaurants, bars, live music, public art and more. You’ll also find a diverse range of cuisines and eateries in Atlantic City, from celebrity-chef-owned spots and fine dining to local favorites and seafood.

      Unique Sightseeing

Explore the rich character of Atlantic City at one-of-a-kind landmarks and attractions, immersing yourself in history along the way. At the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, marvel at the power of the world’s largest pipe organ during a free recital. The entertainment venue also hosts many concerts and sporting events. Down the boardwalk,Lucy the Elephant is a six-story structure with a spiral staircase inside, accessible during tours. The whimsical pachyderm is also a designated National Historic Landmark. Go back in time at Absecon Lighthouse, the tallest lighthouse in the state and one of the oldest in the country – first lit in 1857. You can climb its 228 steps to reach stunning panoramic views of the sparkling Atlantic City skyline and coastline. Maritime history is also on display at Historic Gardner’s Basin, a quaint, lesser-known destination tucked along the back bays. Check out the waterfront park, restaurants, scenic boat rides and Atlantic City Aquarium.
