Really great concept! One thing I'm not clear on is if the rules are ANDs or ORs. Seems like OR? So if it's "Green Cards" for the first rule and "Prime Numbers" for the second, that means a card that is Green, Prime, or both can be played, correct?
Additionally, I feel like sometimes the rules don't work, but I could be misunderstanding things. For instance, the first card played was a Green 9, but when I lost, the first rule said "Cards that are not Green".
After losing, it'd be nice to be able to see what cards could be played based on the given rule set I lost at, just for clarification, and if I could change Timothy to whatever color/card so that the list would update for the "+/- X numbers" rules.
If you all do an update to this, I'd be super interested in playing. It'd also probably be a fun party game.
Thanks for playing the game and for your feedback! You are correct, there are still lots of things needed to be done to make the game super clean to understand. Plus, we need to test our rules because it does seem like some of them don't work as expected.
Right now, the game logic is based on OR rules, and each player draws a random card that matches one of them.
We are eager to experiment with the game and release a full game eventually, with story mode and everything. We even had ideas for a multiplayer mode. Glad to see you are interested in the game!
Some of the rules should be mutually exclusive. I had a game with both "Cards with odd values" and "Cards with even values", which allows any card to be played.
You should also consider the fact that some combinations are confusing, such as "odd numbers" and "prime numbers" (which would just look like an "odd numbers" rule that randomly allows for 2).
I had a lot of fun with the game and look forward to future versions!
Great idea and the art is really nice.
Outside of 'same number + colour' I honestly found it hard to work out the rules cause I didn't know what the rules could possibly be. A reference of all rules would be useful if this is worked on more.
I think it'd be really useful to see the last 4 played cards to help work out the rule too. Some cards are played so fast that you only have the most recent card to help.
Being able to change colours/numbers when its not your turn shouldn't break anything.
The cards continued to be played after the game ended which may cause a null ref at some point.
Thanks for playing the game.
Your feedback is actually very useful and informative. Indeed a few more things could have been added to make the game simpler but it is after all a GameJam submission with a time limit to achieve everything. It has bugs and it has some missing features but overall we feel the game is amazing. Reading your comment I feel that you too enjoyed the game too.
