Assembly elections will be held in Gujarat in two phases, December 1 and 5. The votes will be counted on December 8 along with Himachal Pradesh that goes to the polls on November 12. Of the total 182 assembly seats in Gujarat, 89 constituencies will vote in the first phase, and 93 in the second phase. A total of 13 seats have been reserved for SC candidates and 27 for ST candidates. Over 4.9 crore electors are eligible to vote in the state elections. Filing of nominations will begin on November 5 and end on November 14 in the first phase. For the second phase, the nomination filing period is November 10-17.
