Why travel to Egypt, Africa?
Enigmatic, evocative Egypt. There's surely nowhere else that captures the imagination like this scorching corner of North Africa. There's the capital, Cairo, with smoky, labyrinth-like bazaars, the Pyramids of Giza rising from the desert, and the fertile Nile - a watery highway to other treasures and adventures.
In Cairo, explore ancient alleyways lined with magnificent mosques, old book-binding stores, and plenty of local haunts for a tasty koshari lunch. Nearby is the Sphinx and the Great Pyramids in Giza, as well as the newly opening Grand Egyptian Museum.
Board a sleeper train and follow the moonlit Nile south, waking up with the sunrise in Luxor to explore amazingly preserved temples. Visit the Valley of the Kings, where the tomb of Tutankhamun was discovered, before continuing to follow the river upstream - this time onboard an overnight cruise - to Kom Ombo and Aswan, where the desert sunset is accompanied by cocktails aboard a traditional felucca sailboat.

I love their curated trips. I have been on three of their trips, Morocco, Greece and Bali. I’m about to embark on a fourth to Thailand and Laos. I can’t wait to experience another wonderful adventure. I have travel as a single woman and made life time friends of people I have met on Culture Trips.

"Seductive Southern Italy April /May 2025 Small group Naples to Lecce"
I loved every moment of this 10 day trip. If you arrive early you can also see Pompeii and Vesuvius. I was amazed to find a tour that went exactly where I wanted to go at an affordable price. As a solo traveller it was also a very reasonable supplement to have my own room. There were only 6 people on the tour and as we were all usually independent travellers it was a fantastic outcome. Our guide Francesco was at all times attentive and available. He was competent and responsive and intuitive to everyone's needs. I intelligent and knowledgeable. A lovely enthusiastic kind person who went above and beyond. Our driver Vito made it all seems effortless. We had a Mercedes 6 seater and were comfortable. Many people ask if it was crowded. No it wasn't. It was enjoyable was watching local people meeting in the piazzas to chat and walk there dogs in the evening. Maiori was a brilliant location. The views from the restaurant were exactly what you would want in the Amalfi coast. Great ferry service to Amalfi and Positano. No need for the private boat if you don't want to. Matera is unbelievable !! Atmospheric accommodation. Yes who wouldn't want more time but we don't all have it unfortunately. Floriana our guide for Matera, Alberrobello and Ostuni was also delightful and extremely knowledgeable. Nothing seemed rushed. A night's rest at a quiet hotel on the coast perfectly time then off to Lecce. The lunch at a farmhouse masseria was private, personal and the whitewashed buildings caught my attention. In fact the architecture everywhere was a highlight for me. Lecce is in the best location to access the beautiful Otranto and Gallipoli. Gallipoli is very authentic and the seafront and small streets where locals still live evocative of ancient times. At the end of the tour I caught the train to Brindisi which wasn't difficult. One more night overlooking the harbour and watching local people catching up in the piazza at sunset. Travel is a reciprocal arrangement. Others can only do so much to ensure your enjoyment. The rest is up to you. I am immensely grateful to have had the good fortune to experience this beautiful place and culture. I hope you can too.

"Pleasant memories of Culture Tour trip to Southern Italy"
This was the first time for me on a Culture Tour trip. I was travelling as a single woman and felt welcome, comfortable and safe. There was a lot that was good about the Southern Italy Culture Trip. The number and composition of couple and single fellow tourists made for the development of pleasant relationships. Francesco was an excellent host and tour guide, arranging a lovely balance of different places to stay, to see and things to do. I liked that we stayed at some places 2 or 3 nights with Vito driving us to places to visit. The amount and placement of free time was good. All accommodation was comfortable thoughtfully planned.

"Portugal by Train"
Had a wonderful experience touring through Portugal by train. The country was incredible, rich in history, architecture, great culinary experiences, etc. The hotel in Aveiro was not great, mold on the ceiling and rusty water…did not shower there. I did inform the lady at the front desk. Otherwise hotels in Porto and Lisbon, while small, were in ideal locations. The icing on the cake…our local guide, Ana! She was outstanding and so knowledgeable…she gets an A++++ from us. No one else showed up for our tour so we had her as a private guide, very intimate experience as we got detailed stories of the country having her solo. So great! While the cities were amazing (I’m a city slicker at heart) Douro Valley and Sintra were next level. Douro is like Napa without the pretentious vibe. And Sintra (we got to go to Pena Palace bc of our private tour) was enchanting! We ventured down to the Algarve (Albufeira) on our own afterwards, so worth it! Once in a lifetime experience, especially having Ana as our guide to show us all the ins and outs…she’s very proud of her country, as she should be! Thank you Culture Trip for the wonderful memories!

My first experience with your company was wonderful. This train trip from Porto to Lisbon was not wonderful. Why were we there to visit museums when it was holiday and closed? Our tickets useless. Our host not so upbeat actually miserable at times. Loved the country views and people we met there. Boat ride down canal was pathetic and too commercial
