Victorion was created after theTorchbearers—a team of explorers who seek ancient Cybertronian artifacts—were accidentally exposed to the energies of theEnigma of Combination. As all six of her components are devout followers of theMistress of Flame, the religious head ofCaminus, Victorion gets a leeeeeeetle bit tetchy when someone threatens sacred relics. And by "tetchy" we mean "summons the wrath of god upon their heads". Between her whirling blade weapons, gravity-control powers, and the ability to fly under her own power, the collection of Rust Renegades is more than capable of some righteous smiting.

The strong discipline and sense of unity among the Torchbearers, combined with their natural deference to Pyra Magna, means Victorion is one of the most mentally stable Combiners. In ways she is much like Pyra, with the others contributing numerous smaller personality tics to ensure the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts.

WhenArcee stole theEnigma of Combination and fled to theRust Sea, she ran across the Torchbearers. During a standoff between the team,Windblade andChromia, Arcee threatened to destroy the artifact, only for Rust Dust to make a grab for it, activating the Enigma and fusing the Torchbearers into Victorion.

The gestalt focused its energies on protecting the artifact of its birth... by trying to obliterate Arcee. Windblade and Chromia saved her, unwilling to let anyone die. Victorion proved more than a match for the three physically, but Windblade was ultimately able to talk sense to Victorion, reminding her of the Torchbearers' devotion toSolus Prime, who created rather than destroyed. Accepting that honoring the legacy of the Primes must also include not engaging in unnecessary destruction, Victorion separated into her component individuals, much to Arcee's shock.An Uneventful Night

She later confronted Optimus Prime, after a brief scuffle with him as her component Torchbearers. After combining, Optimus stated that he didn't think Caminus had combiners. Victorion replied that it didn't—that she was something new, then turned the conversation towards Optimus, asking him whathe was. He told her that he had come to ask her opinion on the subject. She then pinned him to the ground with her gravity control powers, and demanded that he tell her what he knew about theMatrix of Light. Struggling to move, he recounted the legend of its creation and ended with his stated belief that it was technology, nothing more. Victorion sarcastically responded thatthis was the universe they lived in—where one carrying the holiest of objects on the planet didn't even believe in its divinity.

Asking him how many had died during his carrying of the Matrix, he solemnly replied that too many had, and that death and war were the legacy of the Primes. She then told him that on Caminus, everyone learns the names of all the Primes, save for those of two: "The Fallen" and "The Arisen". Her components left Caminus, and TheMistress's service, because of the latter's belief that she knew who The Arisen was—sacrilege to the combiner. Victorion claimed that the Matrix rightfully belonged to her, as a disciple ofSolus Prime, and she said she would one day possess it. Until then, however, she decided to use her talents as a builder to build up Optimus.Lagrange

Victorion later accompanied Optimus and her fellow combiner, Superion, to help put down the Decepticon takeover of the Spacebridge. She used her gravity powers to end the clash between Windblade and Dreadwing, and greeted Chromia and Windblade. She then went through the spacebridge to Earth, with Optimus,Sterling,Aileron,Sunstreaker,Bob, Chromia, Ironhide, and Wheeljack to stop Galvatron's takeover of the planet.Perihelion

Victorion took part in the pitched battle that ensued after Optimus Prime forcefully annexed Earth into theCouncil of Worlds, using her gravity powers to take down some of thePredacons. With the Decepticons weakened thanks toGarrison Blackrock'smindbomb, the Autobots pushed the advantage, routing the Decepticons and thePeople's Liberation Army Mecha Force. When Optimus's forces extracted their wounded back to Cybertron through the spacebridge, Victorion and Superion covered the retreat.Once Upon a Time on Earth

After Aileron struck out on her own and aggressively arrived at theWhite House, Victorion carried Optimus Prime and Sunstreaker to the White House lawn in order to defuse the situation. Victorion used her gravity powers to warp a satellite blast intended for Optimus Prime, then warped the light around the Autobots, turning them invisible and allowing them to escape.Edge of the Earth

"You like that, little man?!"

During the preparation for the attack on Galvatron and his Decepticon followers, Victorion questioned the Autobots' alliance withSoundwave and his Decepticons, as they didn't have a very deified view of the title of "Prime". After they began the attack, underneath theIndian Ocean, Victorion and Superion held their own quite well against theEDC'sclone combiners. In response, Galvatron used the power of the Onyx Code version of the Enigma of Combination to merge a handful of his troops into the combinerGalvatronus! The Decepticon gestalt immediately grappled with Victorion, landing a punch on her before Galvatron used the Enigma again to forcibly separate her into her component Torchbearers, weakening the team.It's Beginning To And Back Again The Torchbearers were able to pull themselves back together during the subsequent cleanup effort, and formed Victorion to interfere with an EDC strafing run. On Jetfire's orders, she used her gravity powers to safely extract the Autobots and their prisoners.White Heat

Some months later, Victorion, Optimus Prime, and Soundwave travelled toOregon to the besiegedJazz and Arcee, who had been targeted by attack fromG.I.Joe. Believing the Transformers to be behind the destabilization ofOre-13, the Joes weren't inclined to talk things out; in the ensuing fight, Soundwave lauched an electromagnetic pulse to disrupt the human technology, and Victorion caught and safely set down the planes that had been knocked out of the air by the attack to prove their goodwill. Then, amysterious silver alien intervened and began slaughtering the Joes, so Optimus ordered his troops to pursue the mechanical interloper. When the Transformer-hunting taskforceM.A.S.K. arrived to besiegeMetrotitan, Victorion moved to take down the humans and their shapeshifting vehicles, but was left unprepared for a massive onslaught ofDire Wraiths that arrived to help their benefactorMiles Mayhem.The New Colossus The Camien combiner soon recovered and leapt back into the action when the villainousBaron Karza showed up and merged with the Wraiths into a titanic new form. WhenOnyx Prime andLiege Maximo returned to Cybertron, Metrotitan opened a spacebridge back home and opened fire onNemesis. The Constructicon combiner however managed to push through the Camien's gravity manipulation prompting Victorion to summon her sword and switch to melee combat.Endless Forever In short order however, it was revealed that there was a sample of the gravity manipulatingOre-4 aboard Nemesis, its effects interfering with Victorion's abilities. When Arcee shattered the crystal, Victorion's full powers were restored which she demonstrated by unleashing a gravity wave powerful enough to rip Devastator to atoms.Unforgivable

WhenUnicron attacked Cybertron,Elita One drafted the Torchbearers into her service, intending for Victorion to breach the Chaos Bringer's surface and unleash her gravitational powers from within the monster, killing him. Though the combiner was brought near Unicron, she ultimately opted to attackBludgeon'sWorldsweeper once it opened fire onCarcer. Within the craft, the deranged Decepticon revealed he'd been anticipating this and unleashedMonstructor whose animalistic fury overwhelmed Victorion before he fatally toreStormclash from the combined whole, causing the combiner to break apart.Our Finest

Victorion would live again, however: when the battle against Unicron spilled over to Earth, the energies unleashed by Superion's reformation andSoundwave's activation of the Enigma of Combination prompted Pyra Magna to desperately reform Victorion in the hopes of stopping Monstructor. The Torchbearers were thus joined bySlide, who took Stormclash's place as Victorion's new left leg. Together with Superion, the two combiners were able to tag-team Monstructor, with Victorion delivering the finishing blow by ramming her fist through Monstructor's head.

As Unicron perished, his body collapsing into a black hole, Victorion was teleported toMount Rushmore with the other heroes and mused that Optimus had sacrificed his life to vanquish the threat.Ceremony

Following the disbanding of the Autobot and Decepticon factions, Victorion stepped forth to lead her people towards unity and peace, and proclaimed herself savior of the galaxy.Prelude to Transformers: Combiner Wars - Victorion Upon sensing the Enigma of Combination was in danger, Victorion flew to Cybertron and faced off againstDevastator. The fight didn't last long, as Starscream soon made his move and became "The Ultimate Combiner" by using her, Devastator, and the corpses ofMenasor andComputron to upgrade himself.A War of Giants After Starscream was defeated, Windblade gave the Enigma to Victorion, claiming that such an artifact belongs with them.Destruction's Dawn

Victorion assisted in the reconstruction efforts following the end of theCombiner Wars.Aftermath and Rebirth WhenTrypticon attacked, she and the other Combiners were recruited by theMistress of Flame to search forFortress Maximus.Our Heroes Respond They eventually found Maximus in a frozen wasteland,The Fight Begins and while theTitan himself was inactive, his weapons were still functional. Learning this, Victorion ordered Computron to fire all Maximus's missiles at Trypticon, believingMetroplex's attempts to stop him were a lost cause and that they would need to save Cybertron.Overlord and Emissary WhenMegatron arrived at Fortress Maximus seeking Victorion's insight on religious matters and revealing the Mistress had perished, Victorion assumed him responsible and ordered the Combiners to attack. Megatron held his own in battle until Windblade arrived and the fight stopped long enough for Megatron to explain. Seeking revenge onOverlord, Victorion used the Enigma to fuse with the other Combiners, turning herself into Ultimate Victorion and teleporting back to Metroplex City.Desperate Actions There, she engaged Trypticon, but found herself quickly overwhelmed by the Titan.Run for Our Lives Before Trypticon could finish her, she was saved by the arrival of Optimus Prime, but she was still too damaged to continue and separated from the other Combiners. Undeterred, she charged back into battle alongside the others, damaging Trypticon by firing an energon spike into an energon main.In Good Hands She attempted to attack him again after he was weakened in battle withFortress Maximus, but Trypticon sensed the Enigma in her possession and swallowed it - and her - whole.Consumed Both were eventually released thanks toPerceptor's plan, but when she tried to reclaim the Enigma andMatrix of Leadership,Megatronus created a flame barrier that burned offher arm and damaged her sword, leaving her powerless to stop the ancient Transformer from killing Optimus and escaping with the relics. Megatron led Victorion, Windblade and Perceptor toPrimal Swamp in search of theRequiem Blaster, though she continued to assert herself as the true leader of the group. Their search was interrupted by the arrival of theDinobots, who attacked them for associating with Megatron. Victorion struggled againstSnarl andSludge before finally forcing them off, only for the Dinobots to combine intoVolcanicus.The Swamp Still refusing to ask for Megatron's aid, Victorion ordered Perceptor to distract Volcanicus so she and Windblade could attempt a sneak attack, but it failed. Things were further complicated by the arrival ofPredaking, who demanded the Enigma of Combination.Volcanicus Predaking savagely beat Victorion and held her in his grasp until Windblade and Perceptor tricked him into releasing her. She picked up Perceptor and they all made a run for it, with Predaking and Volcanicus close behind. Their chase came to a stop when they found Megatron entering a strange dome.Without Warning Victorion continued to insist she didn't have the Enigma, but Predaking refused to believe her and attacked the party. As he was about to strike her, Megatron returned with the Requiem Blaster and convinced Predaking to leave them alone.Primal Following a series of coordinates, Victorion and the others eventually traveled to theAthenaeum Sanctorum, the library of the gods. Victorion was overwhelmed, her faith having finally been rewarded, but she was taken by surprise asRodimus Cron restrained her. Part of theCombiner Wars series, Victorion is made up of Voyager ClassPyra Magna as the torso, withRust Dust forming her chest, andDust Up,Stormclash,Skyburst, andJumpstream each forming a limb. Pyra Magna has beenretooled fromHot Spot to give Victorion a new head. Victorion also features a more muted green compared to the way earlystock photos depicted her, as said photos utilized hand-paintedprototypes.

Victorion's official configuration per theinstructions places the copter-twins Skyburst and Stormclash as her legs—but due to the nature of theCombiner Wars theme, all of her limbs are interchangeable. Unlike earlierCombiner Wars gestalts, Victorion uses dedicated hand and foot parts, rather than the "hand/foot/gun" parts that come with the rest of the limb-bots in the series. This is because her components aren't sold separately, resulting in a reduced need for flexibility in the hand/foot-part department. Victorion's broadsword is the combined mode of her components' weapons, with the base of the sword resembling theLightning Bug from theoriginal cartoon episode "Cosmic Rust".

The instructions for Victorion, all of the respective fictional appearances, and official artwork of the character (including the piece used on the packaging) depict Rust Dust's chestplate mode as sitting upright (motorcycle windshield at the top, wheel at the bottom), as opposed to Groove's upside down orientation. However, due to the way theGroove and Hot Spot molds are designed to combine, the only two points of friction holding Rust Dust on in the "official" Victorion configuration, are the5 mm posts on Rust Dust's arms, leading to the chestplate outright falling off at the drop of a hat. The windshield of the motorcycle also partially obscures Victorion's face in this configuration too. Our photography pictured to the right depicts Rust Dust's chestplate mode in theDefensor/Groove configuration—the way the molds were intended to connect.

Every one of Victorion's components has Cybertronic tampographs in her vehicle mode, which read:

This is another callback to "Cosmic Rust": the warning message left byvictims ofthe titular plague ontheir colony world.

Victorion was only available as a box set including a poster and a collector card based on her packaging art, one of several so-called "Collection Packs" that were "online exclusives" in the United States, available from online retailers such asHasbro Toy Shop,Amazon, andBigBadToyStore as well as the online stores of "big box" retailers such asToys"R"Us,Walmart,Target, andKmart. In Hasbro's Asian markets such as Singapore and Taiwan, the set was available at general retail. In Australia, it was sold at Toys"R"Us stores, whereas in Canada, was both sold at Toys"R"Us stores and available via Amazon Canada. In the United Kingdom, it was available via the UK Toys"R"Us website (but never sold in stores), whereas in Spain, it was available via the Spanish subsidiaries ofAmazon and Carrefour, as well as the department store chain El Corte Inglés, supposedly also only available online.

This set, including the new individual head sculpts but without Rust Dust, was redecoed to makeUnite WarriorsMegatronia.

• Victorion was the result of the 2015Fan Built Combiner polls. Fan-voting determined:
  • Her gender
  • Her name
  • The molds used
  • Her color scheme
  • Her special power (Gravity control)
  • Her origin ("Rust Sea" won, so while the components are from Caminus, Victorion proper was "born" in the Rust Sea in-fiction.)
  • Her "rival" (Galvatronus won, and on his first formation in IDW continuity, he immediately grapples with Victorion.)
  • Her attitude ("doesn't take instruction well" won, and yeah, upon first forming, she's kind of a loose cannon until Windblade talks her down.)
• Though she is the first female "traditional", Scramble City-style Combiner, the honor of first Combiner to be referred to as female goes toHeavy Metal, aUnicron Trilogy 3-botMini-Con Combiner.
• In her first fictional appearance, she is drawn without any obvious integration ofRust Dust, who forms her "chest armor" in toy form. Similarly, in his first appearance in IDW continuity,Defensor is also drawn withouthis chest armor component,Groove. Given thatPyra Magna is a retool ofHot Spot, both of whom form the torsos of their respective Combiners, it seems an odd omission to make twice.

• Occasionally, Victorion is drawn with a mouthplate and non-visored eyes rather than the exposed mouth and visored eyes the final toy has. This seems to be based on one of the earlier designs for Victorion, as seen in a clip fromHasbro's "Designer Desk" video for Victorion on YouTube.
• Victorion is one of the largestTransformers action figures to haveheel struts. She also has hands that aremuch smaller than any otherCombiner Wars Combiner, even without the knuckle-guns that other figures have. They're close to the size of original G1 Combiner toy hands.
• If you think about it, it's rather fitting that thefandom gets to have influence on a character who literally comprises disparate personalities.
• According toHasbro Heroes Sourcebook #3, Victorion has a variable height of approximately 150 feet and a variable weight of approximately 1500 tons.^[1]
