TheVerne device was developed byJules Verne. Its abilities require additional hardware to be of use — theChamber of Youth requires it in order to function, and the device can be used to erase memories. There are at least two in existence, both being prototypes created by Verne.

Verne shared his invention with fellow scientistThaddeus Morocco, giving him one of the prototypes. Verne's other prototype was used to enable his hot air balloon to travel in time.The Last of Morocco Morocco later used it to power his Chamber of Youth, allowing him to keep himself young as the decades passed. When working withMadeline Pynch, he removed the Verne device from the chamber and mated it with a helmet, which when worn byMayor Luskey, erased the Mayor's recent memories. He also attached it to a gun-like weapon which produced a beam of energy, erasing the memories of theRescue Bots. When the plan went belly-up, Pynch appeared to claim the Verne device for herself,Double Villainy however Morocco later found the device back in the Chamber of Youth. He attempted to use it to restore the Bots' memories.Rise of the Heroes

The device was used to power a Chamber of Youth in theGriffin Rock jail during Morocco's incarceration, however he took it with him during his escape.Bugs in the System He was forced to use it to bargain with Pynch in order to get theNemo back. Though he intended to double-cross her, he lost possession of the device and was forced to resort to drastic measures. He succeeded in summoning Jules Verne to the time period so he could use the Verne device from Verne's time machine to power his Chamber of Youth. Verne used the device to wipe Morocco's memory, effectively reforming him, so he could live peacefully in futureParis.The Last of Morocco

The other Verne device remained in Pynch's hands untilChief andHeatwave stole it during a raid on her compound. Though she temporarily reclaimed it and attempted to use it to wipe their memories, the pair had switched the device for a useless duplicate.
