Tonka is an American toy company that is best known for its metal toy trucks and construction vehicles, though their most notable contribution toTransformers was being the company behind the importation ofBandai'sMachine Robo toyline under the nameGoBots. In 1991, Tonka was bought out byHasbro, and since 1993 some GoBot-related trademarks (including the name "GoBots" itself) have occasionally been reused within theTransformers franchise.

After Hasbro's purchase of the company, Tonka would go on to release the preschooler-focused1-2-3 Transformers toyline in 2001. The brand would cross over withTransformers once again in 2022, with the release ofTonkanator in theTransformers Collaborative line.
