Part of the first wave ofWar for Cybertron: Kingdom Deluxe Class figures, Paleotrex "transforms" from skeletalTyrannosaurus to robot and back via being disassembled and reassembled. His dino-mode tail-tip becomes a serrated sword/cudgel in robot mode, or as shown in the box art, can peg into the back of his large shoulder. Oddly, the box art and the stock photos on the back of the box depict Paleotrex's shoulders assembled on opposite sides, the former depicts the bladed shoulder on the right, and the latter on the left. This is a mirror-flip of the image rather than an alternate assembly, as the slot on the back of the shoulder blade is visible in front if you actually swap the arms.

As aFossilizer, Paleotrex can split into weapons and armor compatible with theC.O.M.B.A.T. System for use by otherWar for Cybertron Trilogy figures (or any figure with5 mm post compatibility), with two suggested configurations shown in his instructions. The first has his robot-mode lower body and forearms combined into a double-clawed backpack, with the dino-mode tail and pelvic assembly forming a massive battle-axe, his dino-mode head and neck an arm-mounted chompy-thing, his chestplate a shield, and his head becoming a hand-held mace (which, with the battle-mask flipped down, resembles the originalBeast WarsUltra Class Optimus Primal toy'sspiky mace). The second has his lower body still as a backpack, but now acting as twin cannons, with the dino-mode feet plugging into the bottom of a figure's feet to be... uh, stilts, we guess, keeping the arm-mounted shield-chestplate, and combining the dino-skull and tail-axe assembly into a monstrously huge battle sword.

Due to having tiny feet and a very oddly proportioned body in robot mode, the figure can be difficult to pose without it falling over, not helped by the fact that his "ankle" tilts are actually positioned just below his knees.

Like allKingdom Deluxe figures, Paleotrex comes with aGolden Disk card that "reveals a possible destiny of a key character", with each character having three possible destiny variants.

In Japan, Paleotrex was released as aTakaraTomy Mall exclusive.

This mold was recolored intoSkelivore, retooled with a new head to makeGenerations SelectsTransmutate, and heavily retooled intoLegacyWreck N' Rule CollectionSpindle.

Notes

• Much like other Fossilizers, the mask flipping down over the robot head makes for an interesting callback to the "mutant head" gimmick used by first-yearBeast Wars figures.
