Lookout Mountain is a mountain overlookingAutobot City onEarth. The mountain previously featured an artificial observation deck. Hot Rod claims you can see everything from Lookout Mountain, within the usual constraints of a round planet. This may (or may not) include such sights as seeing seven states fromRock City, Ruby Falls, the world's steepest incline railway, and the final or temporary resting place ofBrawn. At the very least, it is apparently an ideal point from which to watch shuttles approaching Autobot City.

In the year2005, the main mountain road was blocked off (possibly for repair) by a team ofAutobots overseen byKup.Hot Rod crashed through their blockade and drove up the mountain road to the artificial observation point.

AfterDaniel Witwicky noticedDecepticons aboard an incoming shuttle and Hot Rod fired on it, the Decepticons retaliated, blowing the observation point to smithereens.The Transformers: The Movie

• There areseveral Lookout Mountains within the continental United States. Which, if any, of these isthe "Lookout Mountain" that appeared inThe Movie is unclear. The pop-up commentary on the 20th Anniversary DVD states thatthis "Lookout Mountain" is inChattanooga,Tennessee. In actuality, that Lookout Mountain is a plateau, with the northernmost point (as well as most of the tourist attractions and the city of Lookout Mountain, GA) just outside Chattanooga, with the majority being located in Georgia and Alabama.
