Incinerator (far right): joined the Samaritans for one day and four people committed suicide — and one was a wrong number.

Most of the Decepticons who came toEarth seekingMegatron stick to the shadows, stealthily seeking out tips on their leader's whereabouts. However, stealth is notIncinerator's thing. He wants to know where Megatron is, and he's going to interrogate everyAutobot he can capture to find out. His interrogations generally consist of taking his hapless "passengers" on a terrifying flight and scaring whatever scraps of information they might have out of them. Of course, once they've told Incinerator what he needs to know, they're free to go... from 25,000 feet up.[1]

Titan movie comics

In adivergent timeline, the Decepticons succeeded at Mission City and conquered the United States. Incinerator was one ofStockade's "new Decepticons": a group of Decepticons who remained on the dying Cybertron out of patriotism, and survived by feeding onNucleon. Sadly, he does not have copter blades for hands.Return to Cybertron: Part 1

Wahh wahh waaahhhhhh...

Incinerator helped summon an entity to Cybertron to rebirth the dead world and oversaw the use of Nucleon to provide power for the process, a situation likely made harder by his hands turning into spiky blades between scenes. The Nucleon flow was stopped byBumblebee, but the entity arrived anyway and Incinerator was seen with a big "oh whoops" expression when the entity announced its name wasUnicron.Return to Cybertron: Part 2

Incinerator moaned this was not meant to happen, moaned they were all going to die, and probably would have moaned that he had normal fingers again if things were not so bad.Return to Cybertron: Part 3 He helped stop Unicron.Return to Cybertron: Part 4

When Stockade made a deal with the Autobots and arrived to defend Earth, Incinerator was part of his air support.Revolution Part 2 He joined Stockade in storming theDecepticon Heartland, and found himself inMegatron's gun-sights.

Fracture was standing next to him while warningStorm Surge to move, which may be why Incinerator's retreating back can be seen when Fracture was later trying to fight off a flying opponent. Speaking of his back, that's whereArcee attached a teleportation "tag" to him, causing him to be sent to and exiled on Cybertron.Revolution Part 3

Oh well. He still did better thanVortex.

Incinerator was one of the Decepticons who ended up nearEarth while serving underSoundwave's command on theNemesis. Disguised as aSoviet Kamov Ka-25 helicopter, he transported thePretender spy toNew York City to hunt downBill Simmons after his escape fromSoviet Research Station Oktober. Incinerator destroyed the building Simmons was hiding in, presumably killing him.Convergence chapter 3

Years later, Soundwave sent Incinerator to Earth to search for aStar Harvester, and he andDropkick made their landing inFlorida. They destroyed anAmericanmilitary base leaving no survivors, before scanning suitable Earth forms.Alliance #3

Both Incinerator and Dropkick were tracked down by the Autobots and their human allies. In the battle that followed, Incinerator had managed to pinRatchet down with his blades, but was distracted when the Autobot medic sawed into his ankle, allowingOptimus Prime to finish him off with an energy blade through hisspark.Alliance #4

Commercial appearances

  • Incinerator, along with Stockade, were two (likely terran) vehicles that werebrought to life by the AllSpark's power as new Decepticons. Though the AutobotLandmine was outnumbered by the two Decepticons, Optimus Prime came to his rescue.AllSpark Power Movie figures

  • TakaraTomy ID number:MD-22
  • Accessories: Rotors
  • Known designers:Takio Ejima (TakaraTomy)
Part of the "AllSpark Power" portion of the2007 movie line, Incinerator transforms into an unlicensed approximation of aV-22 Osprey tiltrotor transport aircraft, based upon the CV-22 variant used by the US Air Force and featured in thefilm.
Pulling back the radar dish on the tail activates an extensive gear-train, which causes both rotors to rotate regardless of whatever position his wings/arms are in, though the rotors' momentum wears off quickly. HisAutomorph feature opens up his canopy as his chest assembly is rotated downwards intorobot mode and (in a lesser Automorph) pops out his pelvis once his legs are separated away from his vehicle underside. He also featureslight-piping for his visor. He is packaged without his rotor props attached, so he requires very minor assembly out of box.
TheTakaraTomy version of Incinerator sports a different color scheme than theHasbro counterpart, replacing the two shades of gray with a primarily black color (but retaining the purple and "Allspark Power" blue plastic colors). In addition, it also sports "0025" markings on the tail in an attempt to make thealternate mode moremovie-accurate, though this aim is questionable given the Ospreys in the Movie weren't black. Like all Japanese "Allspark Power" releases, "black" Incinerator comes with a small Allspark cube accessory.

Notes

  • "Incinerator" was one of the many working names for fellow Decepticon helicopterBlackout.
  • Incinerator's coloration and personality appear to be based on those of theGeneration 1CombaticonVortex... which was yet another working name for Blackout.
  • Incinerator'spackaging art is curiously different from the actual toy's head design, as the art sports large, round,Bumblebee-styled eyes that take up a large portion of the face, whereas the toy's head sculpt sports aJazz-type visor for eyes.
  • Incinerator's appearance inIDW Publishing'sAlliance comic features a design that is strongly influenced byRevenge of the Fallen concept artistBen Procter's design for a transforming Osprey that would later becomeSpringer.
  • Perhaps coincidentally, Incinerator's death at the hands ofOptimus Prime inAlliance is almost identical to how Optimus himself was later killed byMegatron inRevenge of the Fallen. Karma's a bitch ain't it?

Foreign names

  • Japanese:Incinerator (インシネレーターInshinerētā)
