Gulfs (ガルフGarufu) are devoid of sentience, like all theSeacons commanded byTurtler, serving only as mindless mass-produced drone warriors designed to overwhelm their opponents by numbers. Among the endless legions of the Seacons, the Gulfs are the most resistant to the pressures and temperatures of the ocean depths, allowing them to dive the deepest and search the ocean bed for resources. They are also capable of firing razor-sharp scales from their backs, a move called the "Snap Leather".

The Gulfs can combine with their fellowSeacons to formKing Poseidon.

Released in the fourth year of Takara'sFight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers line under theSuper-God Masterforce banner, "Galph" (as his name is misspelled on-package) is identical to the Hasbro-releaseSkalor, transforming into a pink and blue robotic coelacanth-monster. His two blue rifles can be mounted on his fish-mode back, one on each side of his dorsal fin.

The guns also plug together to form the barrel of Gulf's third mode; an artillery emplacement that mounts on top of a stand formed from three individual components. The central piece of this stand, the "Tripod Rifle", can also be wielded as a weapon by robot-mode Gulf.

Gulf can also transform into either an arm or leg compatible with any "Scramble City"-style combiner, though his nominal placement is as the right leg toKing Poseidon; thanks to Poseidon's unique fists, Gulf's artillery mode can also be used as a hand-held weapon by the Seacon super robot.

A TakaraTomy-initiated addition to theGenerations Selects series, "Seacons Gulf" is an extensiveretooling ofPower of the Primes Deluxe ClassTerrorcon Blot, transforming into a robotic coelacanth-monster. With the exception of the fists, all of the prominent bright and dark pink parts are paint applications, so uh, be a little careful with him.

Just as with his original toy, he is able to form any limb for anyCombiner Wars-style super robot, with his nominal place as the right leg toKing Poseidon, plus he also retains his artillery mode, which can again be used as a hand-held cannon by compatible combiners. Like the otherGenerations Selects Seacons, Gulf has newly-tooled combiner hands with individually-posable fingers, which also form the base of the Targetmaster-style gun mode, with the handle being aCombiner Wars styled port that plugs in to the hand provided in this set. The hand can be plugged into the back of the tail in beast mode, or as the back of the feet in the combined mode, whilstTurtler's feet components are at the front. He also has a new sword, which combines with the other Seacons' melee weapons to form King Poseidon's oversized trident-sword.

Gulf was released as aTakaraTomy Mall exclusive in Japan, as part of the first of three mini-waves of Seacons alongside Turtler. The Seacons were also available viaHasbro Pulse and other online retailers in the U.S. and Canada.

Released as part of the series 10 lineup ofKabaya candy kits, Gulf was available in as set along with fellow Seacons Kraken, Lobclaw, and Tentakil. Despite being a snap-together model kit, it is functionally a downsized version of the larger toy, retaining the combining functions. Since the kit is gang molded with the other Seacons, some of the plastic colors are a bit off. Common among Kabaya kits, it relies on stickers for added detail.

Gulf can become an arm, leg, or cannon for King Poseidon.

Part of the tenth wave of Kabaya's standard snap together kits, Gulf can transform from limbed coelacanth to robot, though you need to partsform his robot legs to do so. He can combine with the concurrently released Seacons to create King Poseidon.

Gulf and the other Seacons are compatible with theGaia Scramble combiner limbs released a few years prior.

• None of theMasterforce Seacons were ever depicted in robot mode in the anime or manga. The toy'spackage art is the only known "fictional" depiction of a Gulf in robot mode.
