Edgar Wald (bornFebruary 26,1941) is a Mexican actor and voice actor who did most of his voice work while living inLos Angeles. LikePeter Cullen, he's best known for voicingOptimus Prime, but his other voice work includes James Bond inThe Living Daylights,Destro andBazooka inG.I. Joe and dubbing Dolph Lungren's character inRocky IV.[1] For a while, it was rumored that Wald had died, but it was later confirmed the rumors were false. Though Wald is retired, andOptimus Prime was voiced in the first two movies byBlas Garcia, Spanish-speaking fans started a petition to get Wald cast as Optimus for theDark of the Moon Spanish dub,[2] but were ultimately unsuccessful as Blas Garcia remained as Optimus Prime's voice actor in the third film.
