• OnDecember 3, 2012, "A Flash Forward, Part 6" announced the set's theme would beMachine Wars.
• OnDecember 7, 2012, the dates and location of the convention were revealed on the official site.
• OnJanuary 31, 2013, the first toy's robot mode was revealed via the official Transformers Facebook page:Machine WarsHoist. His alt mode followed onFebruary 6.
• OnFebruary 8, 2013, the second toy's robot mode was revealed via BotCon's website:Machine WarsSkywarp. His alt mode followed onFebruary 12.
• OnFebruary 14, 2013, the third toy's robot mode was revealed via BotCon's website:Machine WarsStrika. Her alt mode followed onFebruary 19.
• OnFebruary 21, 2013, the fourth toy's robot mode was revealed via BotCon's website:Machine WarsObsidian.
• OnFebruary 26, 2013, Obsidian's alternate mode was revealed, guestsJames Horan andDavid Sobolov were announced, and the convention brochure went up, revealing amongst other things the identity of the fifth toy:Megaplex.
• OnFebruary 28, 2013, Megaplex's robot mode was revealed on BotCon's website.
• OnMarch 14, 2013, registration went live, after a short delay.
• OnMay 21, 2013, a Saturday panel with the cast and crew ofRescue Bots, including all four Rescue Bots (Parvesh Cheena,Steve Blum,D.C. Douglas andImari Williams) was announced.
