Renowned French center back Kurt Zouma, now 30 years old, is the youngest player at CFR Cluj, where three players from Kosovo currently play.
After passing medical tests and finalizing the details, he signed a two-year contract with the Romanian club, with an option to renew for another two years.
The 2021 Champions League winner with Chelsea has been in Cluj since Monday, with the transfer being brokered by former French defender Mikael Silvestre.
The Romanian club announced his arrival with a cryptic post on social media: "I'm taking a break from the Island. The most anticipated move of the moment is coming." The first images of Zouma in a CFR shirt will be released soon.
The club's president, Nelu Vargas, enthusiastically welcomed the big move.
"I am extremely happy that we have achieved the transfer we wanted the most. Zouma is an exceptional player and a guy with great character. He will bring a lot of value to the team and will be an example in the dressing room," he declared.
In Cluj, Zouma will play alongside the Kosovo trio: Meriton Korenica, Lindon Emerllahu and Drilon Islami.
The first two are part of Kosovo's roster for the September qualifying matches, while Islami is still in the process of acclimatizing with his new team.

The trio from Kosovo will have something to learn from a former player who has played at the highest levels, wearing the France jersey 11 times./Telegraph/
