Govt. T.D. Medical College, Alappuzha
Welcome to Alappuzha, also known as the Venice of the East, a popular tourist destination is a coastal district in Kerala that offers a perfect amalgamation of stunning natural scenery and a rich cultural heritage. This beautiful land is located amidst the serene backwaters and lush green paddy fields, making it a perfect destination for peace-seekers. Besides being an essential hub for tourism, Alappuzha is also home to the esteemed Government TD Medical College that provides quality healthcare services to a vast majority of people living in Alappuzha and also nearby districts.
The first batch of MBBS classes were started in August 1963 for 50 students. The Kerala government had agreed to upgrade the district headquarters hospital at Alappuzha and handed it over to the Medical College management, to be used as teaching hospital for the medical students and Government Order No.G.O.(MS).263/73/HD dt. 23rd October 1973 was issued accordingly.
