See, this is why game preservation is important.
This game is defunct.
Do note the game no longer works at all without modifications. This is most likely due to the game's servers being shut down. As a result, further official developments with the game are unlikely to happen.

Rockman Xover (pronounced "Rockman Crossover") was released for Mega Man's 25th Anniversary in 2012 and promised to combine every Mega Man universe at the time into one huge game! Too bad it was as a money-grubbin', level-grindin' time-waster of a social RPG.

It managed to stagger along for three years before the Japanese version was finally shut down in March 2015. Negative fan reception meant English-speakers never got their own version of the game, though it can hardly be said we missed out.

Graphical Changes

Game Icon

After the game amassed 1.5 million downloads, the app icon was changed to reflect this. This new version was used until the end of the game's life.

Battle Memory

RMXo-338.png

An update for all full art Battle Memories. An elemental border was added to easily distinguish the element of the BM. All previous art and later art now have this border.

RMXo-BM1020.png

Storm Eagle's element was changed from Wind to Elec before distribution.

RMXo-BM4020.png

Rouge fromMega Man Zero's element was changed from Fire to Elec before distribution.

RMXo-BM3719.png

SolCross MegaMan BM's image location was replaced with Gareth, who was distributed later.

Ice Pegasus Mega Man BM image was fixed to not have the Double Super Rare stars pasted on the image itself.

Yusuke Murata's special gift art was altered, but changed back to a more faithful version before its distribution.

Armor

The artwork for OVER-5 Spec2 was initially missing his face when it was first released. This was fixed later.

Unused Graphics

Unused Background

RMXo-UnusedBG002.jpg

Possibly an earlier background for World 1.

RMXo-UnusedBG019.jpg

Unknown use.

RMXo-UnusedBG024.jpg

Used in Taiwanese version instead for a Tower event.

Unused Event

RMXo-UnusedBG021.jpgRMXo-UnusedBG10.png

The kids ofBattle Network (and Shuuichi from the mobileBattle Network games for some reason) running away from a cast of villains from different universes. An event related to the art never occurred. Wolf Woods never made it inXover, either.

Unused Video

Probably should have been used for Irregular Bursting Battle Memories. Normal BM upgrading was used instead.

Unused Music

"LOST THE MATCH..." track from the Xover Capcom Special Selection CD is unused. It's supposed to be used when you lose in Battle Arena but in-game, WON THE MATCH! plays when you lose.

Undistributed

RMXo-1005.png

Hard to know them all, but some BMs were never distributed. This Chaud BM was one of them.

New Type

RMXo-UnknownBM.png

A mysterious new Battle Memory type added in during the final World 12 update. Right before the announcement of Xover's discontinuation of service. It features Alpha fromMega Man Battle Network 3, and is a 6-star Battle Memory. 6-star Battle Memories were never used in the game.

Regional Differences

Xover had Korean and Taiwanese versions of the game. Unlike the Japanese version, these were unsuccessful and were bustered far before the home country's version shut down. After a few updates, the Korean version ended in World 7 (Mega Man X8 World) in May 2014, while the Taiwanese version ended in World 8 (Mega Man 7 World) in August 2014.

For some reason, World 7's background is different.

Menu Icons

RMXo-buttons.png

Exclusive to the non-Japanese versions but some icons exist within the Japanese version's server. The 9 icon is 9game's icon which ran the server for the Taiwanese version as opposed to Adways, who managed the other versions of the game.

Events

News Banner

Each region has custom banners; there were rarely carry-overs.

Collectables

Not available in Japanese version. You were able to collect, then trade them in for useful items.

Tower & Fel Reaver

RMXo-FelReaverCN.PNG

The Taiwanese version had a boss Tower before the Japanese version, as well as an original boss, Fel Reaver. Although the boss itself is ElementMan.EXE, it does not perform any attacks fromMega Man Battle Network 6.
