The story expanded upon Vince Cosmos, a character first introduced inEnter Wildthyme, giving more context to his plight against theMartians.

Vince Cosmos would later appear as aghost inGobbleknoll Hall, an episode of the audio seriesBaker's End (which also featured theMaster of Baker's End, who has been portrayed as both theFourth Doctor andTom Baker himself, as played by realTom Baker).
