Notes[[edit] |[edit source]]
- This audio story was previewed inDoctor Who Magazineissue 380 with an illustration byMartin Geraghty.
- This is the first Big FinishDoctor Who release to feature the new cover design of the main cover art on the right, with the story's title and an image of the Doctor on the left. This sidebar format would be used consistently untilThe Lure of the Nomad in 2018.
- This audio drama was recorded on16 and17 January2007 atthe Moat Studios.
- Nyssa says she was in Rhodes in 1320, while the Doctor later says it was 1310. Given the Doctor has a better knowledge of Earth's history than Nyssa, and the fact the real life Knights Hospitaller took over Rhodes in 1310, as is depicted here, 1310 is the most likely date for this to be set.
- Director John Ainsworth talked about the troubled production of this release on the Doc Oho Reviews[1] blog, and more specifically the reason Christopher Bidmead was not credited as the writer for the story. According to Ainsworth, the original script as written by Bidmead was too long and had too many characters; there was also no relation between the Toy Daleks and the Greyish, and the ending involved the TARDIS exploding, which somehow stopped the Daleks invasion. When Nicholas Briggs made rewrites, Bidmead was reportedly unhappy with the changes, and asked for his name to be taken off.
- This story is set betweenTime-Flight andArc of Infinity.
