At this point, her TARDIS was so degraded that theSeventh Doctor said it should be euthanised. The only way to do so was to fly it into the heart of a star. Because she had impersonated the godThoth when she had first arrived, Jane was guilty of a class 2 intervention according to Time Lord law. The penalty was vapourisation.
