May 3, 2019—KB4495667 (OS Build 17763.475)

Applies To
Windows 10, version 1809, all editionsWindows Server 2019, all editions

Release Date:

5/3/2019

Version:

OS Build 17763.475

Improvements and fixes

This update includes quality improvements. Key changes include:

”Failed to restart "NODENAME": (ClusterUpdateException) Failed to restart "NODENAME": (Win32Exception) The user name or password is incorrect.”

  • Addresses a gradual memory leak inLSASS.exe on systems that have cached logon enabled. This issue mainly affects servers that process many interactive logon requests, such as web servers.

  • Addresses an issue that may cause a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) query to return incorrect results. This occurs if a filter clause contains an attribute that has a syntax of Large Integer type and the filter uses the rule,LDAP_MATCHING_RULE_BIT_AND. For example, a simple filter, such as “msExchRoleAssignmentFlags:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=51539607552” may return no matches when it should.

  • Addresses an issue that prevents Print Workflow Applications from launching for Point and Print.

  • Addresses an issue that may prevent Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps from receiving keyboard input when its user interface thread becomes too busy. This issue occurs when the UWP app has an embedded WebView control.

If you installed earlier updates, only the new fixes contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.

Windows Update Improvements

Microsoft has released an update directly to the Windows Update client to improve reliability. Any device running Windows 10 configured to receive updates automatically from Windows Update, including Enterprise and Pro editions, will be offered the latest Windows 10 feature update based on device compatibility and Windows Update for Business deferral policy. This doesn't apply to long-term servicing editions.

Known issues in this update

Symptom

Workaround

After installing this update, there may be issues using the Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) to start a device from a Windows Deployment Services (WDS) server configured to use Variable Window Extension. This may cause the connection to the WDS server to terminate prematurely while downloading the image. This issue does not affect clients or devices that are not using Variable Window Extension.

This issue is resolved inKB4503327.

Certain operations, such asrename, that you perform on files or folders that are on a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV) may fail with the error, “STATUS_BAD_IMPERSONATION_LEVEL (0xC00000A5)”. This occurs when you perform the operation on a CSV owner node from a process that doesn’t have administrator privilege.

Do one of the following:

  • Perform the operation from a process that has administrator privilege.

  • Perform the operation from a node that doesn’t have CSV ownership.

Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.

Microsoft and ArcaBit have identified an issue on devices with ArcaBit antivirus software installed that may cause the system to become unresponsive upon restart after installing this update.

This issue has been resolved. Arcabit has confirmed this issue is not applicable to Window 10, version 1809.

Zone transfers between primary and secondary DNS servers over the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) may fail after installing this update.

This issue is resolved inKB4494441.

When attempting to print from Microsoft Edge or other Universal Windows Platform (UWP) applications you may receive the error, "Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem. 0x80070007e."

This issue is resolved inKB4501371.

After installingKB4493509, devices with some Asian language packs installed may receive the error, "0x800f0982 - PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND."

This issue is addressed by updates releasedJune 11, 2019 and later. We recommend you install the latest security updates for your device. Customers installing Windows Server 2019 using media should install the latestServicing Stack Update (SSU) before installing the language pack or other optional components. If using theVolume Licensing Service Center (VLSC), acquire the latest Windows Server 2019 media available. The proper order of installation is as follows:

  1. Install the latest prerequisite SSU, currentlyKB5005112

  2. Install optional components or language packs

  3. Install latest cumulative update

Note Updating your device will prevent this issue, but will have no effect on devices already affected by this issue. If this issue is present in your device, you will need to use the workaround steps to repair it.

Workaround:

  1. Uninstall and reinstall any recently added language packs. For instructions, seeManage the input and display language settings in Windows 10.

  2. ClickCheck for Updatesand install the April 2019 Cumulative Update or later. For instructions, seeUpdate Windows 10.

NoteIf reinstalling the language pack does not mitigate the issue, use the In-Place-Upgrade feature. For guidance, seeHow to do an in-place upgrade on Windows, andPerform an in-place upgrade of Windows Server.

When using theMS UI Gothic orMS PGothicfonts, the text, layout, or cell size may become narrower or wider than expected in Microsoft Excel. For example, the layout and cell size of Microsoft Excel sheets may change when usingMS UI Gothic.

This issue is resolved inKB4494441.
