"Equitable Learning Services has been very helpful for me at UNSW. I have heard many of my friends at other universities struggle to get Learning plans that adjust for their mental health like anxiety, ADHD and more. I was able to show documents from a psychologist and my GP, ELS were able to show what options I had. It has reduced my stress to have this safety net around assessment time. Despite Covid ELS has a ‘drop-in’ service that were ready to help you with answers and through the process."

"I went to renew my Equitable Learning Plan (ELP) online having previous difficulties and their new ‘Drop-in' service was amazing. I prefer talking to someone over the phone than getting lost in emails. This was helpful in getting me in contact with a lovely facilitator who stayed on the line to help me update my ELP and change adjustments to accommodate for the online learning. She was very patient to sort everything out with me over the phone in one call. This was super helpful, and I will use this service again in the future if I ever need help with my ELP".

At UNSW we strongly endeavour to align and provide equitable access to education for all students under the following acts:
- Disability Discrimination Act 1992
- Disability Standards for Education Act 2005
- Carer Recognition Act 2010.
"The one argument for accessibility that doesn't get made nearly often enough is how extraordinarily better it makes some people's lives. How many opportunities do we have to dramatically improve people's lives just by doing our job a little better?"
- Steve Krug
