Pursuant to the rules below, aspoiler is generally considered a spoiler on Wookieepedia up to and until one month after the official release date of a particular product. Any page with any new information from said source must contain an appropriate spoiler tag until the end of the spoiler period.

Spoiler tags
Wookieepedia has several available header templates that serve as formal spoiler tags to indicate that the article contains spoilers from a specific source. Please refer to theLayout Guide for the placement of spoiler tags in an article.

The general-purpose spoiler tag, for novels, comics, video games etc. Please refer to the instructions onTemplate:Spoiler.

The spoiler tag to be used during major film releases (such as thesequel trilogy andanthology films) for articles about subjects originating from the film as well as directly related material released around the same time, such as novel adaptations. Articles about subjects that are not original to the film release but nevertheless contain spoilers from them should use {{Spoiler}} instead. Please refer to the instructions onTemplate:SpoilerFilm.
Unlike other sources, the spoiler period for major film releases is two months.

The spoiler tag for series with episodic installments (such asStar Wars: Skeleton Crew andStar Wars: The Bad Batch). When more than one series is releasing simultaneously, theshow parameter should be used to specify which media the article has spoilers from. Please refer to the instructions onTemplate:SpoilerTV.
Adding new information to articles
Editors should avoid putting spoilers inedit summaries. If including spoilers is necessary to be clear, the summary should be prefaced with a warning, e.g. "Andor spoilers: …"
In-universe information from futureStar Wars products may only be added to articles once the information is released through official outlets, such asStarWars.com press releases or exclusive feature stories in outlets likeEntertainment Weekly andVanity Fair, whereLucasfilm or an official licensee is expressly providing the information. This specifically disallows information that has beenleaked through unofficial channels. Information divulged in content creator–made reviews may not be added to articles.
Plot details from newStar Wars releases like films, television series, and novels may only be added to articles upon a product's U.S. wide-release date. Exceptions include information released through official preview promotional material, such as film trailers and book previews. The following specifics apply:
- Films. Information may be added upon midnightHawaii–Aleutian Standard Time (00:00 inUTC−10:00), the latest time zone of a U.S. state, on the day of the U.S. release.
- Television series. Information may be added upon a television episode's initialEastern Time Zone airtime.
- Video games. Information from video games can be added to articles as early as the start of their official early access periods, or upon the day of their standard release otherwise.
- Other material. Information for other products like novels and comics may be added upon their day of release.
