Abattalion of theAlliance to Restore the Republic was dispatched toVrogas Vas byGeneral Jan Dodonna during theBattle of Vrogas Vas, an engagement in theGalactic Civil War during whichDark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader was shot down and crashed on the surface. Dodonna dispatched thebattalion as reinforcements to thecompany that defended theRebel Refueling Base on theplanet,^[1] andCommander Leia Organa and members of theHeroes of Yavin accompanied the battalion. Once at Vrogas Vas, Organa took command of the rebel forces and coordinated their actions in their attempt to defeat Vader.^[2]
