Theuneti tree[6] was an incredibly rarespecies of long-livedmildly Force-sensitive[1]tree that grew on theplanetAhch-To. Theancient library, which was built to hold thefounding texts of theJedi Order, was made in the hollowed-out trunk ofan uneti tree.[2]Chirrut Îmwe, a member of theGuardians of the Whills, had astaff made from itswood.[7]

TheGreat Tree which grew at theJedi Temple onCoruscant was also a uneti tree,[4] one that possessed a strongconnection to the Force.[8] The tree was said to have come from seeds from the very firstJedi Temple.[9] During theHigh Republic Era,Jedi MasterWishan createdincense using thepetals that blossomed from the Great Tree on Coruscant whichStellan Gios found invaluable to use duringMeditation.[10] By the time of theClone Wars, the tree was generations old.[1]

Luke Skywalker's study of the spread of uneti saplings was the key to finding theTemple Island on Ahch-To.[6]

Uneti tree was first identified in theStar Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, written byPablo Hidalgo and published byDK Publishing[6] onDecember 15,2017.[11] Part of tree's name is shared withNeti,species ofshapeshiftingsentientplants introduced in the comicTales of the Jedi 5:The Saga of Nomi Sunrider, Part 3, written byTom Veitch, penciled byDavid Roach and published byDark Horse Comics[12] onFebruary 1,1994.[13]
