Trees were a type ofplant found on manyplanets andmoons throughoutthe galaxy. They could stabilize soil, prevent erosion, filter pollution, and produce breathable air.[1] Trees could not be seeded without ground.[3] Somesentientspecies such as theWookiees of the planetKashyyyk[4] and theEwoks of theForest Moon ofEndor made their homes in and around trees.[5] Thesubterranean caverns ofAleen housed a species of tree-like sentients, theKindalo.[6]Birds usually built nests in trees, though some species were known to make their homes in burrows beneath the ground.[7] The fine wood particles created when a tree was cut, were known as sawdust.[8]

OnAhch-To, thebirthplace of theJedi Order and the location of thefirst Jedi Temple, alibrary existed inside of auneti tree, containingJedi knowledge.[9]

On the planetGloam, there were trees that could uproot and move themselves to follow the tides of the seasonal lakes.[10]

One faction on theplanetBri'n revered and protected their trees. That faction had aPriestess of Wood to protect them. On the other end of the dispute was theMetal Clan, which hated and sought to destroy the trees.[2]
