Telfrey was aplanet in theMid Rim'sTrans-Nebular sector[1] that was home to a nativesentientspecies called theTelfreyans, and also supported a population ofHumans during theImperial Period. Among the Humans who called Telfrey home wereTay Vanis andYom Argo, who later left home to serve theRebel Alliance asspies. Vanis and Argo later returned to Telfrey to investigate reports of increasedImperial activity in the region, and eventually Telfrey erupted in open rebellion. The Imperial response was swift and brutal, and the ensuingbombardment rendered the planet completely uninhabitable.[3] During theNagai–Tof War, theTofs established a heavily fortified base on Telfrey's surface.[5]
