"At first, I hoped your transmission meant my friend has returned. But fate has brought me an evenbetter gift. You. Avessel. One that must bewiped clean to help usher in aperfect age. And we can't have remnants of your old, flawedhuman self getting in the way of thatdestiny, can we?"
―Tarr Kligson, to Beilert Valance[1]

Tarr Kligson was ahuman member of theKligson clan who operated as abounty hunter and worked with thebounty hunterJango Fett[1] prior to the latter'sdeath in22 BBY. By thatyear,[3] the two undertook aheist in the Outer Rim Territories, during which Kligson was injured. Kligson led Fett to thedroidstationThe Haven, which his family had safeguarded formillennium. After they arrived, Kligson requested that the droids on the station save him, though they forced Fett to leave. Eventually the droids fixed Kligson, and he remained aboard the station.[1]

Between3 ABY and4 ABY,[4] as seen by aForce vision of the future shown by theEye of Webbish Bog to theSith LordDarth Vader, members of theRebel Alliance traveled to the moon afterLuke Skywalker felt adisturbance in the Force that came from the moon. When they arrived at the moon, they discovered the source of the disturbance, an attack on homesteaders by the droidAjax Sigma aboard theirship. Skywalker askedR2-D2 to plug into theship to find out whether the homesteaders knew anything about the moon. R2 then discovered the name of the moon and informed the rebels, withLando Calrissian remarking that he had never heard of the moon but was glad to not to be whoever Kligson was.[5]

Also between 3ABY and 4 ABY,[6] Kligson, who also became known as acyborg fixer,[1] allied with theScourge to take over the station,[7] becoming its new guardian like his ancestors had done. Thecrew of the bounty hunterT'onga traveled to the Haven in search of Kligson so he could save their crewmember, the cyborgBeilert Valance. After they arrived, Valance was taken to Kligson, who instead of helping the cyborg, revealed his intent to use Valance's body as a vessel to "usher in a perfect age."[1] The Scourge, however, abandoned Kligson to the bounty hunters once it had taken over Valance's body.[7]

Behind the scenes[]

Tarr Kligson first appeared inBounty Hunters 37. In the comic, his right arm is depicted with the salvaged forearm and hand of aB1-series battle droid. On his variant cover for the same issue, while the forearm is kept the same, he is erroneously depicted as possessing a five-fingered robotic right hand with sharpened tips as opposed to his B1-like hand from the comic.[1]
