Star Wars Zero Company is an upcomingcanon single-playerturn-based tacticsvideo game developed byBit Reactor partnered withElectronic Arts'sRespawn Entertainment and published by EA andLucasfilm Games, set to release in2026.[1]

Set between the events ofEpisode II: Attack of the Clones andEpisode III: Revenge of the Sith, the game will see players take control of formerGalactic Republic officerHawks, a fully customizable character, as they leadZero Company on covert missions fighting against a adversary threatening the entiregalaxy. The group will feature a pre-written group of formersoldiers andmercenaries from diverse and conflicting backgrounds, which, like Hawks can be heavily customized, as well as original custom characters created by the player. Additionally the players choices will influence the direction of the game's story, which according toOrion Kellogg, has been influenced byAndor andRogue One: A Star Wars Story.[1] Among others the game will also feature bond systems between the characters and theplayers main base will feature a detailed interactive map of the galaxy.[4]

Development[]

The video game was announced onJanuary 25,2022 alongsideStar Wars Jedi: Survivor and a newfirst-person shooter video game.[2] Previously, EA had reported a newStar Wars video game in development during a2019 investors' call.[7] Early in development, authorAlexander Freed met withBit Reactor and worked onZero Company.[8] According to Freed, his contributions were minor.[9] OnMarch 2,2024, amidst a wave of lay-offs at Electronic Arts and the cancellation of Respawn Entertainment's first-person shooter project,[10] Bit Reactor confirmed that their untitled game was still in active development.[11] The game was first pitched to Lucasfilm by the game director of Bit Reactor,Greg Foertsch after being approached for aStar Wars game by Respawn's CEOVince Zampella.[4]

OnApril 14,2025, the game was officially unveiled,[12] with a first look held atCelebration Japan onApril 19.[1] Freed was happy to finally see the game announced and revealed the role he had played in its development on April 19,[8] further stating he did not wish to overstate the role he had played. Instead, he brought attention to "the top-tier team of designers, writers, artists, cinematics folk," and more at Bit Reactor.[9]
