Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser was a fully immersive hotel and roleplaying experience developed byThe Walt Disney Company forWalt Disney World Resort. It was originally set to open in2021^[6] but moved to a2022 opening.^[1]

The experience was set on astarship namedHalcyon operated byChandrila Star Line. The events of the story connected with the events ofStar Wars: Galaxy's Edge and therefore take place at the same time.^[7] In May2023, Disney announced that Galactic Starcruiser would close onSeptember 28, 2023.^[2][3]

Guests were able to experience a two-night adventure where they interacted with characters and become participants ofin-universe activities.^[8] The hotel was connected to the nearbyStar Wars: Galaxy's Edge area ofDisney's Hollywood Studios.^[9]

OnAugust 4,2021, the hotel's website revealed sample pricing for a two-night stay in the hotel, beginning at $1,209.00 per guest per night. Pricing varied depending on dates booked, the number of guests in a cabin, and the type of cabin. Packages included the hotel stay, food and beverages, "immersive and interactive entertainment," and admission to Disney's Hollywood Studios andStar Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The hotel featured three types of guest rooms:Standard Cabins,Galaxy Class Suites, andGrand Captain Suites.^[10]

OnSeptember 30, 2021 the Disney Parks Blog announced that general bookings for the hotel would open onOctober 28, with the hotel opening to guests onMarch 1, 2022.^[11] To promote the hotel,StarWars.com released a YouTube series in March 2022 calledDispatches from theHalcyon, which was hosted by theThis Week! in Star Wars hostKristin Baver.^[12] OnMarch 7, 2023 Disney announced that Galactic Starcruiser would reduce the number of voyages from three to two per week commencing October 2023, citing declining bookings.^[13]

OnMay 18,2023 Disney announced that Galactic Starcruiser would close onSeptember 28 of that year. Employees were notified of the decision that same day. Disney also contacted guests who had booked after the scheduled closing date to give them priority to switch to an earlier slot. New bookings for the remaining voyages were suspended untilMay 26.^[2][3] Despite speculation that the site might eventually be repurposed for another themed experience, it was later reported inJanuary2025 that the buildings that had housed the attraction would be converted into office spaces forWalt Disney Imagineering.^[14]
