Stabilizers werestarfighter components designed to stabilize the craft's power flow into theengines.Incom Corporation'sT-65 X-wing starfighter used aphi-inverted lateral stabilizer.[1]
Stabilizers were used on many air vehicles andstarfighters, including theV-19 Torrent starfighter, theFirespray-31-class patrol and attack craft, theT-16 skyhopper, theT-65 X-wing starfighter, theRZ-1 A-wing interceptor, and theE-wing escort starfighter. They were used to stabilize the craft from veering out of control.
Types of stabilizers included theflux stabilizer,ion flux stabilizer,phi-inverted lateral stabilizer,vortex stabilizer, and4-axial stabilizer.
Onswoopbikes, the stabilizer extended out from the front of the vehicle and often appeared as a fin, foil or bar.
