"Luke... save the world for me, okay?"
―Mary[3]

Solay was the main planet in theSolay system in theDominus sector of theOuter Rim Territories. Home to a variety ofspecies, Solay remained in the hands of a despot for half acentury, before theRebel Alliance heroLuke Skywalker assisted the resisters. The rebel victory was short-lived, however, as theGalactic Empire quickly annexed Solay, forcing Skywalker to flee.

Description[]

Theworld of Solay was the main planet of aneponymousstar system, a rare case of decuple system—with tensuns revolving around a common center of mass.[3]

History[]

"Some Imperial governor used the rebels to do his dirty work. He found one rebel who had a price... and set everyone up for a fall. Now Solay ishis.."
Scamp[3]

From around theyear46 BBY, Solay was ruled by a local tyrant,KingBlackart. Following therise of theGalactic Empire in19 BBY, Blackart ruled his planet as the vassal ofEmperorPalpatine. In4 ABY, after half acentury of fighting, the local resistance against King Blackart's tyranny won over his forces.[3]

The resistance, led byRaggold andMary, enjoyed the support ofLuke Skywalker, aJedi in training and hero of theRebel Alliance that opposed Palpatine and his Empire. While the the resisters prepared for the last battle, an unexpected turn of events occurred. Raggold had, unbeknownst to all, betrayed the planet to the Empire, promising to use Imperial support to defeat Blackart and thus allow them direct control over the planet. Consumed by the guilt over his betrayal and what it would lead to now that he had won the war, Raggold committedsuicide. The Empire shortly thereafter resubjugated the world as planned, killing Mary in the process. Being unable to help, Skywalker escaped the planet with the help of a localinfochant namedBraxas.[3]
