Description[]
Orbited by a pair ofmoons,[4] Raydonia was a small, easily overlookedplanet located inthe galaxy'sOuter Rim Territories.[1] It was connected viahyperspace route toBotajef andNag Ubdur;[3] other worlds in relative proximity includedAkiva,[7]Dathomir,[1] andDermos.[7] Atemperate world covered inforests, it was the site of an unalliedsettlement that required supplies from regularly scheduledtransportships.[1]
History[]
- "There will be more innocent blood on your hands, Kenobi! Unless you come. Face me. Come alone. If you do not, this world will burn!"
- ―Darth Maul, viahologram, tauntsObi-Wan Kenobi to face him on Raydonia[4]
During theClone Wars, the renegade Sith LordMaul and his brotherSavage Opress ventured to Raydonia, where theyslaughteredhumancolonists in an attempt to drawObi-Wan Kenobi there. Once Kenobi arrived, hefought the twoSith brothers with the aid ofAsajj Ventress.[4]
Following theBattle of Endor,Wedge Antilles volunteered to patrol certain Outer Rim planets whereImperial presences were possible. Before he and hisstarhopper werecaptured by theStar DestroyerVigilance over Akiva, he reported to theNew Republic while on Raydonia. When he disappeared, the New Republic sent scouts to several nearby worlds, including Akiva.[7]
Behind the scenes[]
- "The five closest worlds to Raydonia offer a glimpse of where Captain Antilles could have been heading next. Mustafar makes some sense, as does Geonosis一"
- ―EnsignArdin Deltura toAdmiralGial Ackbar, following the disappearance ofWedge Antilles[7]
Raydonia first appeared in "Revenge," the 22nd episode ofStar Wars: The Clone Wars'fourth season.[4]
The novelAftermath indicates that the "five closest worlds" to Raydonia are Akiva,Tatooine,Mustafar,Dermos, andGeonosis.[7] However, while Tatooine and Geonosis are both in theArkanis sector (atGrid Space R-16), Mustafar has been established to be a considerable distance away from both of them (at L-19).[8] Furthermore, both of these planets are on the other side of the galaxy from Dathomir (at O-6).[1][8]
The galactic map ofStar Wars: Timelines indicates that both Raydonia and Akiva are nowhere near either Mustafar or Tatooine/Geonosis. Instead, it places the two worlds in the galactic north (also at O-6), relatively close to Dathomir.[3] Given the internal contradiction in theAftermath description, this article assumes that the location given byTimelines is correct.
