Ransom

Aransom was the act of holding someone hostage for the purposes of a trade off. The term could also be used to describe the payment in such a dealing. During theClone Wars, thepirateHondo Ohnaka held theSith LordCountDooku along with theJediObi-Wan Kenobi andAnakin Skywalker on theplanetFlorrum in an attempt to collect a ransom paid inspice from theGalactic Republic, though his efforts failed. Later during the war, the formerdark sideassassinAsajj Ventress held theKagegirlPluma Sodi hostage, only to free Sodi after her brotherKrismo paid a ransom ofcredits.
