Plot summary[]
The episode opens aboard theTantive IV with a captivePrincessLeia Organa being led bystormtroopers toDarth Vader. The narrator explains that in a "galaxy of adventures," Princess Leia won't be intimidated. Leia defiantly tells Lord Vader, "only you could be so bold."
Vader responds that several transmissions were beamed to her ship byRebelspies and demands to know what happened to theDeath Star plans they sent her. Leia claims ignorance and protests that she is a member of theImperial Senate on a diplomatic mission toAlderaan. As she speaks, Leia experiences flashbacks of fighting stormtroopers.
Lord Vader counters that she is a spy, traitor and a member of the Rebel Alliance. He orders his troops to take her away. As Leia is marched into captivity, she winks a defiant smile.
